I think the writers did a great job of showing the obvious favoritism without actually shoving it down the viewer's throat. What really cracked me was how Billy had assembled this 'nerd posse' who guarded him like the Cobra Kai. You can't write characters like that. I had my doubts about Walter Day for awhile, but he came through in the end and kept it real, much to Billy Mitchell's dismay (I'm sure). Goddammit, I love this movie. And I'm not a gamer.
