Higurashi is the 'game' played between the two witches, Lambadadelta (Miyo Takano) and Berkastel (Rika Furude) before the events of Umineko. This is just a theory of course but that's my connection.

@Happymasks The game was actually between Lambda and another witch( I won't spoil who). Bernkastel was an unwilling piece of the unnamed witch. Due to certain circumstances, the witch left the game, and Bernkastel A.K.A Rika had to fend for herself, which led to her dying hundreds upon hundreds of times trying to win.

its highly probable that the game was played between Featherine and Lambdadelta, there so many 'maybes', like, Miyo was Lambdadelta piece, right, what about Satoko ? Lambda is exactly like her when she is acting like a kid. maybe that game was Bernkastel's Hell, maybe Bernkastel was born from Rika's despair... the only thing i have certain is, Hinamizawa was a Gameboard, and Lambdadelta was playing this game, because Rika was killed 'without fail'every time

@sunbeami i extremely doubt there will be another since the hinamizawa curse has been solved and everyone is happy, rei wasn't even necessary it was just a great add on, i think the only way to do another would be to do some of the arcs from the game that weren't included

Referring to red truths that were never stated in the anime, obvious QUALITY moments like when Ange "killed" the Stakes, Bro-Goat. And that DEEN completely killed the dynamic between Battler and Beatrice, making Battler angry 24/7. If Chiru was ever animated there would be so many inconsistencies with the first season it wouldn't even be funny.

The only plus of a Chiru anime would be delicious animated Erika.

The first Umineko DVD/BD sold less than 600 combined copies, and each subsequent volume sold worse and worse, with the exception of one DVD (the beginning of Ep3 got up to 800, which is still abysmal). The last one didn't sell much more than 100 copies.

Heard it from one of the editors of the Witch Hunt, and if you really want to hunt for the sauce the DVD/BD numbers are scattered throughout the Umineko Merchandise thread on AnimeSuki.

I've been watching "Sym-Bionic Titan", and this picture reminded me of it. Why? Because when Ilana, Octus, and Lance form the Titan, Lance & Ilana can be seen inside, floating, but very still, controlling the Titan's actions with their minds.

Like here, Hanyuu & Rika are in fetus position, possibly overlooking their worlds or something; they have the power to repeat time before June. It's also been said that they're distant cousins, while Lance & Ilana pretend to be siblings.

It's not so much a continuation as much as a similar occurrence that is slightly related to higurashi. They are connected, though.

They are not connected or related in any way. This is just a random timeline to give fans some more content to watch, which by the way im very appreciative of. This is not the world left off at the end of season 2. 1- Takana would have been in jail, not the pool. 2- Hanu was in human form at the end of season 2, yet in this episode she was back in ghost form.

@jay186605 at the end of season 2 u will see rika's incarnation of bernkastel at the end of teh episode talking to takano ( when takano was a child ) to give a her a choice, she chose to go with her parents, therefore her parents didnt die.

Hence Takano isnt mind warped and still had her parents. So yes the OVA episode of the pool is part of the original storyline. Just takano is innocent too now
