Awesome video! I have a quick question though. I'm very new to rock climbing and this seems like it takes a reaaaally long time. Do professional rock climbers like yourself have to take this much time into putting in a bolt? Does that mean it takes hours to bolt a new climb for just a few meters?
@SerasAtomsk bolting is for when you intend to make a sport-climbing route that will be climbed over and over again, where the investment of a few hours is worthwhile. If you're just trying a route once, look into using a cam instead. It's a device you insert into a crack in the rock that grips it and has a carabiner on the end for you to clip into. When you're done climbing, remove the cams on your way down and take them with you.
@SerasAtomsk, it all depends on the number of bolts to place, especially whether the climb is overhanging, access to rig a static line to name ONLY a few considerations. The more experienced you are, then the faster equipping becomes.
This video was produced to explain the process of placing resin (glue in) bolts so is way slower than actual.
Thanks for the video. Helped a lot. Whats the name of the song??
