I preffer Circuitous, it's faster than kirikae, very smooth, has load of customizations and features, and displays runing apps in a dock, very similar to iPhone OS 4 multitasking

2 major problems with ProSwitcher.

-Once in a while, Backgrounder's enabled popup stays on and won't close. I can easily fix that with a respring through SBsettings. However, when proswitcher starts up whenever i touch the screen, it won't even let me access any of the buttons on SBsettings. I have to restart the damn thing

-second, this thing makes my springboard and mobilesubstrate crash like crazy. Kirikae doesn't have that problem at all, but proswitcher makes my phone ustable

@AustinTyWeir well that is if you have a 3gs, but for users like me with an iphone 3g, i felt the new features offered with the introduction of the 3gs wasn't worth the upgrade, so i might need it with backgrounder unless the os 4 jailbreak will enable multitasking for the iphone 3g/ipod touch 2g as advertised, which i'm praying it does. i bet apple's doing the multitasking only for the iphone 3gs/ipod touch 3g is a money move, you know apple.

I would like to see you switch between apps "full screen" with one swipe. That can be found under advanced gestures. The iphone is a great device but relies on its apps to enhance it's OS as seen above. Pre continues to be the best device "out of box"

Also, how much RAM is ProSwitcher using? From my testing, it shouldn't use more than 10k of RAM per open application as long as the UI itself isn't running.

Also, the app is near perfect, except they should allow you to activate it with a two finger tap on the screen or something, because i already use my double tap home button for music shortcuts. Coverflow or and kirakae both use the double tap home button so i cant use those.

it would be awesome if they automatically integrated backgrounding in it like backgrounder. I mean so that you dont have to manually set which apps to be backgrounded. So if you get a phone call while your running an app and forgot to background it, you dont lose your progress in the app.

It's a little choppy on opening when I have illumine enabled, but otherwise the performance is SOOO smooth and it's very much like the Palm Pre because you can swipe up to close the app. Very VERY impressive! I also love how the currently running app zooms out and becomes part of the running apps displayed by proswitcher. AND the rounded corners option!!

As the developer speaking, this *does* correctly background the applications. The iPhone OS includes multitasking features which are specifically disabled by Apple (except for the Phone, Mail, Safari, and iPod apps which are automatically backgrounded).

This *is* true backgrounding, which is a feature of the kernel: the iPhone uses the same kernel as OSX (Darwin/XNU kernel) and as such has multitasking.
