  • keep comin back here... psychedelic ... me'shell and this band is crazy

  • in trying to ride the rhythum between the drums and the guitar . . i had an out of body experience . . got swept away by the organ and informed by the lyrics . . dang . . i love it when that happens . . awesome post!

  • as i sat there in my office . . trying not to move . . the music liquified and passed through my ears forcing a tremendous inner sensation for which words cannot describe . . just sit still and you will see what i mean . . this chit is pure funk . . i didn't know music could be "boosted" . .

  • Stdan72! i can dig what you said!

  • charles dogg haynes!!! sick

  • we'r talking about Me'shell....sh'es a musical genius to me....Cookies...is one of my all time favorite...one of the best experimental funk cd ever put out.....

  • who is the drummer? He's great. Doesn't sound like Chris Dave or Deantoni Parks, though.

  • @gr8h8 the drummer is none other than the great charles haynes!:)

  • rock that shit meshell.

  • Who is that woman thats singing with Meshell...and as well on this album...she has such a beautiful voice.

  • Craaaaaazy groove !

And that solo was just wild ..

  • feeeeeellllllllllllliiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnggggggg

  • what can you say? OMG that keyboard solo..., but watch/listen from start to finish...brilliant!

  • man that bass player is in the pocket, but where is that LINe y'all know what i'm sayin?

    Freakin deep groove nonetheless!

  • not that that's a bad thing, just saying I watched another video and she looks slimmer

  • she put on weight

  • How come Bass Player ain't doing much?

I think there is significant bass line that she does on other performances....

  • The best.

  • drummers swingin the shit realll baddd.....godawesome!!

  • I miss ur bass playin' ~ This song is great! You are one of the bests.

  • the music rocks but i dont think god himself fears money

  • nope. But both god and money create fear.

  • But...ain't Fear based on Money-Founded GREED the Name of the Game? Allow the Visionary to vent, already! Those who Know Better, KNOW BETTER than to allow hu-man-made god or money generate inner fear, right? It's okay not to subscribe to either notion. Sister Ndegeocello is merely venting the irony of what rules so much in so many of our worlds....not what actually is operating the order of things. PEACE.

  • no, no. You've got it a bit turned around. The concept of the song is that God, Fear, and Money control everything. Just listen to the tagline of the song "God, Fear, Money, make the world go 'round n' 'round". And I'd say she's pretty much right about that too.

  • This is the great example for every overeducated , busy , tasteless drummer out there. Look at the feel , pocket , phrasing , nuances and freaking learn !!! He is fucking sick !!!!!

  • The only thing this is a great example of is that if you're a drummer and you happen to be white you need to be just as suspicious of your instinct to move your body this way or that as you would if you were dancing in public. And we have to overanalyze everything.

  • Just be yourself , do not worry about the thing , dude. Colaiuta and Weckl , Rich and Bozzio are doing pretty well.

  • lol

  • @stdan72 I agree.

  • @stdan72 1:40 and he just got lost

  • great drummer , among other things

  • its CHARLEY DOGG HAYNES.......East st Loos finest

  • Not only East St L fines , but one the finest in my opinion

  • (nabbin most of chris dave's bag)

  • who's on drums

  • i THINK it's Charles Haynes...

  • Me'Shell is the Angela Davis of funk. One bad ass artist and one of the more sincere musicians over the last 2 decades. This jam is funky as shit!!!

  • Well put! Heh, I think I'm gonna use that quote sometime...

  • Thanks. She is so very profound with so much to say...most artists cannot even come close to identifying with what she's about because they sold out to larger record companies and lost their feel for what is real.

  • That keyboard break down was amazing.

  • ah yeah.

  • YEAH!!!

  • Thanks ...Oh Can I Miss that...?

  • finally another meshell.. thanks ! seeing her live is my biggest musical dream. (but maybe she would play bass a bit more again)
