We can talk about what will be experienced after death of the body depending on what one believes/does during a life but it's all really speculation and it's not confined to Christianity, not by a long shot. So you have many other religions/spiritual paths advising what one should believe & do to get the best results after bodily death. Of course they all have their different & specific formulas on exactly what one needs to believe and do. If this is true the odds are stacked against you.

No, I think that it is very common with those who suffer from depression. It is a wonderful bandaid of illusion over their illness, called denial. Many people get stuck in that phase of recovery when they experience traumatic events in their lives, as I suspect that you have. Recovery doesn't exist in the denial phase and yes, everything does become an illusion to those stuck there, but it's just a bandaid.

For those men who attributed torture to God or at least believed God allowed torture, this was a small step. We can talk about what will be experienced after death of the body depending on what one believes/does during a life but it's all really speculation and it's not confined to Christianity, not by a long shot. So you have many other religions/spiritual paths advising what one should believe & do to get the best results after bodily death. No, I think that it is very common with those who suffer from depression. It is a wonderful bandaid of illusion over their illness, called denial. Many people get stuck in that phase of recovery when they experience traumatic events in their lives, as I suspect that you have. Recovery doesn't exist in the denial phase and yes, everything does become an illusion to those stuck there, but it's just a bandaid.
