"If Gordon's listening to this he may find it difficult to believe. I had a residual (temporary) loyalty, which I found very difficult to overcome."
Brown was desperate for the keys to number 10 and Blair saw the collapse coming. My feeling is Blair made a deal with GB, His silence concerning Iraq, in exchange for the top job.
Brown, unelected and with no mandate, dived in and became a laughing stock.
Possibly the cleverest chancellor we've ever had, suckered!
@ukipwarrior A true rational conception of worst UK PM really ought to go by:
-less-than-100%-legal body count plus life ruinations, and Blair isn't as bad as the WW1 PMs with their huge body counts
-puppetry by courtiers, misadvicers and the media to cause ruination, as did Blair too. How do you defend yourself from being comprehensively lied to by venal, deceitful varlets with a one-sided fantasy world Utopia agenda of the usual Idealist-Objectivist nexus of Tird Way authoritarian behaviorism?
@cloudbusterman WW1 PM was fighting a maniacal tyrannical totalitarian regime intent on global conquest. Blair Brown were fighting the bogey man of the middle east using a culture of fear perpetuated via the murdoch press. Browns bullying save the world ideology was deleterious for Great Britain's economy and has indebted us for generations. Through the reckless guaranteeing of deposits of toxic banks Brown's ruinous legacy is palpable for all to see.
fiddling expenses paid his accountant out of public funds claimed for 4 different properties in 4 yrs as his second home claimed for a flat he rented out whilst claiming for his grace and favour home in downing street
Another one stabs the "One-eyed Scottish Idiot" in the back. The cunt fully deserves it for the the fucking mess he left this country in. Ruined the economy, allowed uncontrolled mass immigration and spent our money like a drunker sailor. Good riddance to the 'Fucking disaster"
i always thought of this guy as being fundemantally honest. i see no reason for him to start lying now. maybe not the greatest chancillor but an honest individual....i'll go with his version of this sorry tale.
@johneunson No such thing as an honest politician.... even the ones who are not socipathic liars tend to be fantacists with regard to their role in events.
If we weren't on a debt backed currency, there wouldn't be an obsession with growth; and we could simply live comfortably in our needs. But since we are, we need perpetually accelerating growth just to maintain the system.
None of these politicians will resolve the problem, because they are all hoping the system implodes when they are not in government. They're terrified it could be happening now, so they are just pumping the system full of cheap money, in the hope it happens after they leave.

The intro that Marr did for this interview has been cut, to make the video fit inside youtube's stupid video time limit.
