  • The Stones were a top act, competitor to the Beatles, long before MT (and Ronnie) came along. They already proved themselves way before 1969- although there's no doubt MT was great guitarist.

  • GOOD GOD NOOOOOO...1 BRIAN JONES STARTED THE BAND W/ IAN...AND THEY CAN'T PLAY CERTAIN SONGS BECAUSE BRIAN JONES ONLY COULD,,,,,,,YO THAT IS STONE BLASPHEMY TO TALK THAT ABOUT BRIAN...THEY CAN'T SPEAK ON HIM CAUSE IT HURTS...THE ROLLING STONES=ALL, BUT ESP BRIAN JONES!

  • keith seemed in a bit of a hurry, 2 seconds after mick mentioned brian jones, was it not special to him, just to mention, ron wood has more talent music art, than most on this earth, mick taylor, what a man, the stones are special, each and everyone of them, i love keith, i wish, more about brian was said..

  • @ziggyuno1 -drugs, man, you see he nervous he was? lol

  • MT said that Bill and Charlie were unavoidably detained - they both snubbed Hall of Fame because specified dinner jacket and Charlie refused because 'get this' rock stars don't wear suits. Yet that's all he wear now even to bed and Bill was anti the suit too. Time and I dunno what changed Charlie. Hope that wasn't to long.

  • mick taylor is such a nice guy

  • @sjconker64

    He is a great guy.

He should rejoin the Stones- they can have three guitar players !

It would actually work because they're the type of musicians who know how to weave guitar lines in and out.

  • @psychkoala They actually tried it once in 1981 when Mick joined the band at their St. Louis gig. It apparently didn't work out so well according to Ronnie. Mick "bulldozed" through songs, took uninvited solos, etc. Don't bother looking for the bootleg, Mick wasn't plugged into the soundboard so he can't be heard. It might work with some rehearsals, but I think it would be a case of too many cooks in the kitchen.

  • THEY HARDLY APPLAUDED BRIAN JONES, HE STARTED THE BAND AND WAS THE MAIN FORCE BEHIND THE EARLY BAND!!!

  • Charlie and Bill-- where are you?

  • @Andoy1 - jail!! Lmao!!

  • like i said about another video of mick t. this dude has sheer class, and in my opinion the stones made the best music with him on their side..

  • mick taylor = 100% talent, kindness and honesty

    stones = 0% + not being funny

  • @nusdorfer Oh yeah?? You know all of them personally?? Go spew your garbage somewhere else.

  • 3:37 he says Brian Jones, what are you talking about they didn't mention him!?

  • Mick T. just wanted to play. Celebrity wasn't his goal. His lack of a career after the Stones is simply a lack of ambition, not a lack of talent. Their best work (IMHO) was with him.

  • @nilla003 Couldn't agree more. Did you notice the horrible haircut on Mick?

  • what part of Mick and Keith's support for Brian Jones and Mick Taylor as members of the band did any of u miss? If you want to worship at the alter of Mick Taylor then face it, he never had a career after...

Brian Jones was no more the heart and soul of the Stones than any of us. Anyone hear of Charlie Watts. When the band started Charlie was the guy they needed and he had to be payed to play(he was a pro at that time) Keith has said many times that Charlie is the musical bed he lies on.

  • what part of Mick and Keith's support for Brian Jones and Mick Taylor as members of the band did any of u miss? If you want to worship at the alter of Mick Taylor then face it, he never had a career after...

  • If not for Brian Jones none of them would be standing there. Totally classless of Keith to not even mention Brian's name. I will always remember Brian Jones. He WAS the Stones heart and soul.

  • I can't get enough of this mans guitar playing

  • Mick was the best guitarist for the stones, but Ronnie looks the part. Im sure he's Keith's cousin

  • Brian Jones.... was buried 12 feet under in England for fear that someone may dig him up! also Bob Dylan purchased his Bronze Casket!

  • yo fuckin rights mick taylor is the epitome of class... how perfectly humble and genuine.. 'but anyway we all appreciate it very much, more than words can say, thank you very much." just genuine as fuck...what a gangster

  • Ronnie and Mick talkin for most of it! Haha!

  • What do you think of the Stones today?

John Lennon: "I think it's a lot of hype. I like ``Honky Tonk Women,'' but I think Mick's a joke with all that fag dancing; I always did. I enjoy it; I'll probably go and see his films and all like everybody else, but really, I think it's a joke."

  • "The songs Keith and I have written" - good one, Mick. Considering Keith has been getting royalties for songs he didn't even know about until after the fact. Pay MT what you owe him, you punks.

  • words, ronnie, words words! i love keef.

  • I love Mick Taylor getting a little dig at Richards and Jagger by thanking the rhythm section. Those guys have never gotten enough credit. Nor Taylor. It's no coincidence that they peaked with him on lead, and never reached the same heights once he was gone.

  • 1:05 "I don't care" :D What a guy Pete is.

  • Comment removed

  • I wish Keef hadda got drunk, ripped up the tux and punched everybody out.

  • re Mick Taylor .. must be hard being the adult of the group.

  • Nice speech!

  • Mick Taylor was who transform ´the rolling stones band´, on THE ROLLING STONES BAND !!

  • Mick Taylor is the ULTRA GREATEST SUPER GUITARIST.

    COME BACK STONES IMMEDIATELY!

  • Ian Stewart was the true founder of The Stones just like Keith mentions. He was the one who kept them all together.....

  • @Dean100able So correct Dean. He was the straight one who was smart enough to let the "stones be the stones' but knew when to push their buttons and be the mature one of the bunch. RIP Ian..

  • Just have Taylor rejoin! Have a three-guitar attack!

  • Uh, read the Keith Richards new bio, Jones did NOT start the band. All of you spitting and hissing wankers, read the fucking book, then you can argue based on actual facts and bios

  • 0.42 that looked like a "faaarkin A!!!!"

  • That smile at 38 seconds is amazing!

  • @elauraburnette taylor whispered to ronnie at 3:03 cool

  • After the success of 'Exile's re-release, they really should tour with Mick Taylor. Love or hate Ronnie Wood, the world would still gasp at the very idea.

  • @czykeith i had that idea too....if not then taylor as opening act

  • @czykeith i had that idea too....if not then taylor as opening act

  • Brian Jones didnt start the band...he just everyone to think he did....pompous ass that he was.

  • @Quixote010 youre an idiot

  • @Quixote010 That comment didnt make sense.

Bill , Mick , Keith , Brian and Charlie where all equally responsible for starting the stones.

And Brian was an ass, But keith was an ass to..Drugs turn some people into Total shit.

And Brian contributed Great musical parts on Aftermath , Their satanic majesties requests and Between the buttons.

  • They are the Best!!!!

  • Stole their first song from Marianne Faithfull.

  • @jeminijem1

Oh yeah? What was the title of the song they 'stole' from Marianne Faithful? How did they 'steal' there first song from someone before they even met them?

  • @jeminijem1

What a load of bollocks. Jagger/Richards actually wrote "As Tears go by". She just sang it.

  • @jeminijem1 You couldn't be more seriously illinformed. Do your research before making such absurd statements; god only knows how much bandwidth is wasted on correcting fools like you. You may have heard/read half a detail about 'Sister Morphine', but that hardly forgives you. And...'As Tears Goes By' was hardly was their first "song" - whatever you mean by that. Hit song? Song recorded? Song heard? Say what???

  • @jeminijem1 You're an idiot. Stick to what you know...which appears isn't much.

  • come on, did they really need a r'n'r HOF induction?

  • there should have been a moment of silence for brian jones :(

  • @georgeion58 have moment of silence for all the dead people in the world NOW..there were too many moments of silence for brian jones for 40 years. lets move on

  • @georgeion58 definitely, if you consider it, he created the rolling stones, and the others wouldn't be where they are now.

  • now that was awkward

  • the band in the background sucks

  • i think its awesome that keith mentioned ian stewart ,and ronnie made mick t speak.to me thats the end of the argument ...was taylor better than wood ..who cares they are still the rolling stones

  • 3:32 to 3:45 is the best part.

  • Comment removed

  • Mick Taylor, nothing but class for the last 40 years.

  • Mick looks 70 here... TOO MUCH TOO YOUNG

  • 80's = harsh haircuts

  • Bill & Charlie couldnt make it. Ian Stewart RIP, and they were right about Allen Klein. where is Pete's intro?

  • Mick Taylor is an absolute Gent.

  • I wish I were Mick Taylor, so that I would have played guitar with the Stones and once in a while people would call me to some prize and stuff. And I would even play my own gigs.

  • RIP Brian Jones & Ian Stewart!!

  • @pistolpete111 Amen. Brian and Mick T were the 2 most talented players the band had. Brian could play anything and Mick T graduated from the John Mayall School of Great Blues Guitar Players.

  • Oh My God!!!! Keith wore a suit!!! He hates those things!!!!! but he looked good in them. theres my studmuffin Keith Richards ;)

but what's wrong with him there he's like moving weirdly its okay though.

btw...R.I.P. Ian Stewart and Brian Jones

  • wow. ian stewart. respect. what a significant clip. thanks for posting.

  • dmressoogdaq -- long overdue response --- yes, some of the best albums are with MT, but I think you overlooked Out of Our Heads, Aftermath (both U.S. and U.K. versions), Beggars Banquet. Let It Bleed doesn't count 'cause MT only played on one track. And I dare say that Undercover and Bridges to Babylon are great Stones albums without MT. Just my opinion as a Stones fan. Thanks.

  • Isn't Mick Taylor gracious here? Tremendous. And so too, in his own way, is Ronnie. Both thoroughbred Stones that in their own way, in different times, kept the band doing what it had to do.

  • @MMRJL

What the band had to do was get much worse when Mick left and Ron arrived. ;)

  • @MMRJL

What the band had to do was get much worse when Mick left and Ron arrived. ;)

  • Mick's a guy who should be thanking his lucky stars that he never went bald. Without hair and a dye job, he'd looks almost freakish. I just can't imagine him with one of those horseshoe patterned bald heads.

  • Bless Ronnie for giving Taylor credit, since the others really didn't.

  • Where are Bill and Charlie?

  • @xHoboMcGeex I suspect neither one of them would cross the street for such a soiree and I respect them for it.

  • Ronnie will NEVER be a real stone

The only real stones in my way are the original lineup with Brian + sixth stone ian stewart. They did some real good work work with Mick T though

  • @giacobaldi2 i think the same bro

  • Mick Taylor is the epitome of class.

  • Richards looks soo ruff....

  • @BL80488 -- He looks rough here??? He looks like he's 15 years old compared to what he looks like now!!!

  • Drugs kill musicians and bands. They had to give Jones the axe. Check out Jones at the Rock and Roll Circus. It was so sad.

  • Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a JOKE, they even take rappers and pop singers there, what a piece of cunt, Sex Pistols declined when they got asked.

  • Mick should have stayed in the band. He left due to his heroin problems but what's ironic is that Keith quit heroin 8 years before Mick Taylor eventually did (1980 for Keith, and late 80s for Taylor) despite Keith touring with the Stones all those years

  • WHERE IS CHARLIE???????

  • @rowdymax1 sleeping

  • Poor Ian Stewart. Never allowed to be an official member in public, because he didn't have the right "look"....well HELLO MEATLOAF who sold MILLIONS of records....!!

  • haha the crowd is so fucking stiff, i be laughing my ass off with them right now if i was there

  • where's Bill??

  • @enlightening fucking

  • i think mick taylor is weird always felt he was never a true stone he was great when he was with them you leave stones your out of touch stones are it

  • Wow, all thumbs down for my innocuous comments...who are the idiots with the thumbs today?

  • From what I remember, Ry Cooder also played some guitar on Let It Bleed.

  • @fumetti: But I don't think that much of any of his work made it onto the final mix. I recall reading somewhere that Keith didn't particularly like working with him--though I don't know why.

  • Brian Jones never got to go to that stage and stake his claim. This is HIS band.

And always will be. : )

  • Your damm right, Mick Taylor was there, he made them the world's best rock 'n' roll band at that time

  • @allrhu No,Mick Keith Brian Bill and Charlie made the rolling stones the world's best rock 'n' roll band ever!!!

  • @rafaultimate69 Wrong. Yes Brian started the band. Back in the early days when they were doing blues covers yes Brian was the band leader. Once Mick and Keith started writing their own material he became obsolite. As the band began to gain fame. By the time satisfaction and lets spend the night together were out Brian was feeling disconnected from his band which led to his domize. He was barely present for Satanic Majesties, Beggars Banquet, and Let It Bleed.

  • @rafaultimate69 Mick Taylor gave birth to a new Stones era. He had as much influence on the band in his time as Mick and Keith, much more than Ronnie and Brian combined. And he doesn't get credit for it. Mick Taylor made The Stones the greatest rock and roll band in the world. What they did in his time far surpases anything they did before or after. We would not know The Stones we do today if not for MT. There would be no Ronnie.

  • @TheRabidPosum You would know the Stones today if Mick Taylor were out of the picture. The guy was a great guitarist, but did very little lyrics wise and helped make some outstanding riffs (Ventilator Blues) from here to there. Don't make Taylor something TOO large, Brian Jones was the Rolling Stones; the creator. If not for him, then literally no Stones. The man had such a musical impact for them, widening their ranges, and being able to play tons of instruments. Don't underestimate what he did

  • @TheRabidPosum Your statement about Brian is ridiculous. He is the bands founder. And after Ian Stewart he is the one owed the most attention that isn't getting it.

  • @TheRabidPosum I like Mick Taylor as much as the next guy, Sticky Fingers and Exile On Main St. are my two favorite albums, but to say Mick had more influence than Brian is just ridiculous. Mick was a better guitar player sure, but as far as influence goes, Brian MADE the Stones. Jones pretty much put the band together, was the architect of it, came up with the name, and was as important to their early success as Jagger and Richards put together.

  • @jbrown1169 exactly. Brian is the man.

  • @TheRabidPosum Nope. Jones>Taylor. No Jones, no Stones. Acknowledge that fact. Plus, they were more diverse when it came to genres. All Taylor played was blues and rock. Jones made the Stones the greatest rock in roll band in the world by leading them to that point, I reckon if anyone would have been in Taylor's spot they'd still be "the greatest."

  • @EvilAnticsLive To say Jones is soly responsible for the formation of the stones is crazy. Not getting into that Jones was the leader for the first couple years and albums when they were doing blues covers, until Mick and Keith started writing their own material. He continued to have influence in the mid to late 60's but not as much. I'm not saying Brian wasn't important.

  • @TheRabidPosum ...Jones is the one that created the band.

  • @EvilAnticsLive Cont. I think The Stones would have taken a totally different path had they continued with Brian, or someone else had taken his place. Like it or not he was barly present for studio sessions on Satanic Majesties, Beggars Banquet, and Let It Bleed, although played important parts on them. They couldn't go on the road with him, that's why they let him go.

  • @EvilAnticsLive cont. We're all Stones fans obviously and can have different opinions. For me, the albums they put out, the way they played live, no one could compair to MT and Keith. I think the MT era was the best and my favorite albums. There would be no Sticky Fingers, Exile, Goats Head Soup, It's Only Rock And Roll. Live they were the best. To me hands down MT had the biggest influence on the band in his time.

  • Is that... Keith?? Hahah, I think he's slightly coked up!! 04:28 what was that? Rolling Stones, you are one of the Greatest!

  • Mick Taylor & the stoners *(awkward)*

  • A big credit goes to Mick for giving Brian a little credit here. He should do that more often. Keith too.

  • damn, i wish they had a reunion jam that night.

  • check out Jay hunter Band on google

  • The fact that Mick Taylor was ripped off by the two glamour twins shows clearly here.........the way agger mentions writing songs with Keith....a clear dig at Taylor......You can tell they were uncomfortable having hime there.

  • Jagger/Richards was the songwriting team for 40 years. Mick Taylor contributed while he was there but it would have sounded weird to include him in the songwriting partnership

  • true legends

  • This was a while ago, but would be the same if it happened yesterday.I think it sets out the Stones' characters really well.Jagger is a learned, normal English wit, comfortable in our British class system in which he shines. He gets it all and always has done. The Tongue, the Glimmer Twins, the hype, etc He is the best marketing guru of all time and a stalwart of the greatest r and r band ever.I will miss them when they are gone and there will never be another like them.

  • What is Keith feeling for in his jacket the whole time he's talking up there????

  • A beautiful tribute to Ian and Brian from Mick. Thanks for posting this.

  • They seem a bit uncomfortable. I'm a big Stones fan, and my take on Brian Jones is that he perished like many other greats, but the Mick/Keith takeover of what was originally his band helped it along. He was too messed up for the 1969' tour, and you can see that in the One Plus One vid from 68'. Mick Taylor IS a true musician. He is also shy, and I think Mick's power/muscle etc was a bit much back then. Taylor can hang, (same circle), with Hendrix, Page, Clapton, Beck, Woods is in a dif league

  • Agree with you mostly; sort of. Brian Jones, though....simply blew it. He turned into a stoned out bitch who argued with everybody about every-thing. He may have "started" the band. But he wasn't fit to lead. Just a junked-up jerk-off at the end. No class. No character.

  • @swiggy58a You know...that isn't true. That's how two specific people wants you and all of us to believe he was. No, Brian wasn't a leader. But he wasn't what you describe either. Most of the people who knew him seem to have liked him. They say he was a fragile character marked by his mental illness and drugs. But still, he was an easy going, charming man with a sense of humour. There was a lot going on inside the Stones between Brian and the Glimmer Twins. Mick and Keith did their fair share...

  • Jan Wenner ofcourse....

    sycophant city &;-þ8===¤

  • Great to see this thanks for posting it.

  • The 25 X 5 documentary has Ronnie talking about TAylors frequent inability to go onstage because of mild stage fright. Not necessarily an insult.

Keith does say many times that Taylor is a great guitarist but he also goes on to say "thats all he is". I'd be willing to bet that if Taylor had the chance he would love to rejoin the Stones.

  • Ron doesn't even mention Taylor in 25x5, except for when he mentions how Jagger needed him to take over when Taylor quit.

  • @150sevenmag They should have rehired Taylor when Bill Wyman left

  • Nice that Mick mentioned Brian Jones, after all it was Brian who started the band.

  • @AusDavid12 Oh, they were very generous with tributes to others and helping hands to others; but MT seems to have entered some sort of emotional triangle with MJ and KR, deserved better imo.

  • @AusDavid12

Nice..? it's the fucking least he could do,maybe he could maker sure now ,that the man who started "the greatest rock'n'roll band in the world" got a decent memorial piece at his final resting place ,instead of the puny grave stone it has.

btw...Richards SUCKED here, if he couldn't handle such an occasion,he'd better stayed away.

These were The Stones at low eb.their 90's resurrection had yet to come.

  • @AusDavid12 you're an idiot jagger and richards started the band

  • Brian Jones did start the band anyone who knows anything about the Rolling Stones knows that. Read either of the two books by Stones bass guitarist and historian Bill Wyman!

  • O really, and when Taylor isn't in front of him he put's him down whenever he get's the chance...

    MLC

  • LEO FENDER.......darn straight and Les Paul also.

  • and to Brian Jones whos individuality,,,, and so on...he did acknolege Brian.

  • gotcha!

  • Wow... Keith is really strung out.

  • No longer shocked, but not ready to put you in a museum yet either. Rock on, boys!

  • Mick Taylor-true gentleman. What a class act!♫ And lovely of Ronnie to mention Brian.

  • Thank you for sharing this!! ♦♫

  • wow good band to inducted, the stones alright.

  • It would have been big of Mick to mention the fact that Brian Jones actually formed the band, but even all these years later, he just can't seem to bring himself to throw Brian a bone. Too bad.

  • Well, he did thank him graciously at 3:38.

  • Disappointing, half of the band missing.. and Jagger/Richards claim all song writing to themselves of course.... no band without Brian and no golden age without Mick...

  • typical, though

  • As always, MT, the class act. His playing style echoes his demeanor.

  • youre right, even tho he is amazing enough to be as arrogant as jeff beck!

    here hes humble as ever.

  • No Charlie, I guess he could not give a rat's ass about this

  • Any true Stones fan will agree that the Mick Taylor years were the best. We all love Ronnie too just listen to the Faces!

  • Thanks for getting Dear Mr Mick Taylor to attend. Was that down to you Ronnie? Nice touch if it was. So good to see you all together. What a team!

  • No it's wasn't at Ronnie's invite, actually

none of the Stones invited him, he came on his own. Notice Jagger back-handed slap, 1st he's says thanks for comming,

then thanks Keith for all the songs they

wrote together knowing that's one of the main reasons Taylor quit! (Songs like

    Sway, Moonlite Mile, Winter) Jagger/Taylor

Keith wasn't in the studio for those...

  • keith richards se fumo a su vieja

  • brian jones r.i.p

  • The Stones' best albums were with Mick Taylor. Period.

  • Agreed.

  • The Stones best albums were with producer Jimmy Miller, who had much more more to do with the sound of those albums than Taylor did.

  • @dmreeoogdaq FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dmreeoogdaq

    Brian Jones years ruled also!

  • @dmreeoogdaq fuck you!

  • pauvre con de ron wood! !! un guitariste de merde...

  • Mick Taylor.

  • I like Stones more with Taylor.

  • Everybody does!

  • Where would the Stones be if Mick Taylor would have hung in there ? He was one bad mofo on guitar ya'll.
