My favorite of all the Soviet ice dancers, she really was brilliant. It would have been interesting to see where they would have taken ice dancing had she not injured herself.
With the current controversy surrounding the Domnina/Shabalin OD mess for the Olympics, this routine goes to show you can go "tribal" without offending Indigenous cultures.
Whether you like the music choice or not, this routine is tastefully and appropriately choreographed and costumed, something the D/S mess clearly isn't.
How the coach and choreographer got away with the D/S debacle is beyond me...
What I love about this team is that their expression is so genuine. The drama they portrait in dances like Carmen is so believable and the musicality in a modern piece like this is so infectious. What can i say, i miss them sooo much.
I don't think they needed to add this weird music at 2:00. I liked the first version better. However; they have what is really missing from most ice dancers today: musicality. Even with a music made exclusively of drum they are more "musical" than any of the teams you see nowadays.
Very much agreed too. I loved them and miss them. They were really profesional team. I don't think they would have lost for Anissina/Peizerat. Their win was so so in WCH 2000.
Very much agreed. They are and was one of my favorite competitive ice dancers back then. I loved them. I would have loved to see them compete in 2000 with their Carmina Burana. Unfortunately, I think they would have lost to the French team though.
I don't think they would have lost. They had to water it down for the professional competitions due to Anjelica's back problems, but I'm pretty sure they'd be up there in terms of difficulty. Let's face it, they have always been stronger than A&P, both technically and artistically.

It was an imitation to the famous Duscehsnay program- of course with a better technician abilities here.
Still there it is a real mystery how this chaotic program has beat Anissina-Peizerat's Men in Iron Mask program.....

Linichuk coreographed both this and D/S' OD this season.

The gold was theirs for the taking in Vancouver.
Thanks to this routine (mostly), they got the bronze they deserved.

I never liked Linichuk as a coach , she can not feel the music this dance is an exeption, anyway Tarasova is much much batter...

In my opinion it was Linichuk,s mistake - to use this music. But Anjelica and Oleg were the best! I miss them too.

The sound quality to this video is pretty garbled. There was another user who had this video but his account got suspended.

no no no!!! nein!! this is unbelievable!! Marina & Gwendal were really more impressive, touching, and Angelika & Oleg were a bit to proud.

It was commented in other broadcasts of this set that they added the melody to appease the judges desire for it to be more "danceable" to.
