You forget to mention that the entire scientific community of the whole world must also have been involved in a hoax over 40 years. Some key tracking stations were in Australia and Apollo was at a time of so much bitterness over Vietnam. All those local post grad students involved all kept quiet for decades? @viper9511 there is a very small amount of gravity on the moon and since theres no atmosphere, there's no pressure which means that the slightest touch would cause the flag to move because there is little to no resistance and the astronauts just got done planting it in the video which would say it's still going to be moving.

I was around at the time of the landings and was 19 when I acheived my then ambition of watching a Saturn blast off. (Apollo17) There were six successful landings, no doubt in my mind. But I do not believe we will ever get to Mars, the economic opportunity has passed for a manned mission. To invest in such a venture would be a backward step and the future lies in better and bigger remote landers. By 2030 A.I. may become a reality anyway.
Back in 69 it seemed we could achieve anything and things would have been very different had they not scrapped Saturn. They could have put up an ISS sized orbiter in just 3 missions. There were plans tabled for a manned Mars mission for 1986. But 30 years were wasted with the ill-conceived shuttle while Russia pressed on with their relatively cheap rockets. Western economy has now peaked and the oil era fading. Far greater challenges than space lay ahead.

@53HTC Surely it moved. Why should it not move, when an astronaut touched it or manipulated the pole? The inertia is the reason that the flag was swinging. No air friction to slow down means, the swinging lasts much longer then on Earth.

@bellacole13 This effect is well known. Ghost images are due to the technique of converting the radio signal to a tv signal by filming the monitor at Houston with a tv-camera (kinescope). Reflections, re-reflections and ghost-images are the result.
A flag can move without air. It moved only when an astronaut touched the flag or manipulated the pole. Caused on inertia and without airfriction to slow down, the flag was swinging longer then on Earth with atmosphere.
The sky is often incredibly clear well away from the coast in Australia. At night it seems you could almost read a book by the starlight alone. (Ok Not literally) You can see the stars starting to appear as the sun goes over the horizon and they start to fade as the sun comes up in the morning. Look at the sky and it is dark on one horizon and light on the other during dawn and dusk.
But I never saw stars in full daylight ..... nor has anyone else.

NASA Scientists, along with many other rocket scientists, proved every bit of the Moon Hoax wrong and yet people are still claiming it's fake. I'd rather believe scientists who have earned several degrees in aeronautical and rocket science rather than moon hoax believers who most likely dropped out of high school and work at Burger King.

You forget to mention that the entire scientific community of the whole world must also have been involved in a hoax over 40 years. Some key tracking stations were in Australia and Apollo was at a time of so much bitterness over Vietnam. All those local post grad students involved all kept quiet for decades? @viper9511 there is a very small amount of gravity on the moon and since theres no atmosphere, there's no pressure which means that the slightest touch would cause the flag to move because there is little to no resistance and the astronauts just got done planting it in the video which would say it's still going to be moving.

When you go to the Moon (if you do) the first piece of equipment you need will be something to mesure the radiation levels in your jurney.These instruments are fairly cheap. However we got two of the NASA moon-crooks (Mr Bean and E.Gernan) who claim they been to the Moon (haha)but they don't know where the radiation belts are. ! What a fucking joke!

@minisyc0 the flag doesn`t wave,it moves after being handled.The movement is exaggerated because of the vacuum of space and because the flag pole and vertical strut were made of very thin aluminium to save weight.The flag only slows down gradually because of friction between the flag and pole(there`s no air to cause resistance on the moon) if you`re interested the LRO and Japanese JAXA moon probes recently took images of the Apollo landing sites,they`re on utube under "ultra close up Apollo 11"

@sunhawkcity -- Name one calculation that would be needed to land on the moon that could not be done with a piece of paper and a pencil.
The entire trip was pre-planned. The only thing they would need a "computer" for is to keep it on track. They had autopilots doing that for almost 60 years before they landed on the moon.

The ISS uses windows XP on all of the computers as of now. plus traveling to the moon and back wasn't in a straight line fashion,more like a figure 8 shape.

I was around at the time of the landings and was 19 when I acheived my then ambition of watching a Saturn blast off. (Apollo17) There were six successful landings, no doubt in my mind. But I do not believe we will ever get to Mars, the economic opportunity has passed for a manned mission. To invest in such a venture would be a backward step and the future lies in better and bigger remote landers. By 2030 A.I. may become a reality anyway.

Back in 69 it seemed we could achieve anything and things would have been very different had they not scrapped Saturn. They could have put up an ISS sized orbiter in just 3 missions. There were plans tabled for a manned Mars mission for 1986. But 30 years were wasted with the ill-conceived shuttle while Russia pressed on with their relatively cheap rockets. Western economy has now peaked and the oil era fading. Far greater challenges than space lay ahead.

The flag only seemed to flutter when the astronauts were moving it into position.The flag was rippled because it had been folded during storage, the ripples could be mistaken for movement in a still photograph. Videotapes show that when the astronauts let go of the flagpole it vibrates briefly but then remains motionless.

@bellacole13 This effect is well known. Ghost images are due to the technique of converting the radio signal to a tv signal by filming the monitor at Houston with a tv-camera (kinescope). Reflections, re-reflections and ghost-images are the result.
A flag can move without air. It moved only when an astronaut touched the flag or manipulated the pole. Caused on inertia and without airfriction to slow down, the flag was swinging longer then on Earth with atmosphere.

The sky is often incredibly clear well away from the coast in Australia. At night it seems you could almost read a book by the starlight alone. (Ok Not literally) You can see the stars starting to appear as the sun goes over the horizon and they start to fade as the sun comes up in the morning. Look at the sky and it is dark on one horizon and light on the other during dawn and dusk.
But I never saw stars in full daylight ..... nor has anyone else.
