@MrBawston Yeah! I just finished eating the crackers. You have to use an iron saw to eat. It's not a regular cracker rather than something VERY hard made out of flour only.
@leosedf those crackers are probably the 21st century equivalent of, "hardtack", essentially a wheat flour, water, some salt, mixture which is hard-baked into small, squares. The concept, creation, baking, and eating of hardtack hasn't changed since the Roman legionaires. Those three cans of Greek meat and vegetable combinations look deliciious. It would probably taste better with boiled rice or soft bread but both are harder and more expensive to mass produce.
this doesnt seem very userfriendly. a big heavy box fun of heavy cans....the US MRE makes a million times more sense. Theres too much metal and clanking things and its just damn heavy, who ever approved of that was psycho.
@nuclearthreat545 I totally agree with you. US MRE's have also a better psychological effect on soldiers. Most probably due to the stuff in it and the food variations.
NATO soldiers however are tougher if they can survive with that :P
@nuclearthreat545, many countries still utilize canned foods because it's cheaper to do so. Their armies are proportionately much smaller and don't envision large wars nor long campaigns, especially out of their own home territories. Setting up mre-like production facilities is very expensive when a smaller army can simply consume rations based on supermarket canned foods. The U.S. Army consumed canned field rations in WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. At the time it was a huge advancement.

@leosedf if the crackers are the same they had in 2000 (package looks different) you are supposed to wet them with water before eating them
