  • I have a E60 530d sport with a similar problem. When driving the run-flat failure light comes on, transmission failure and the snow flake as per in this clip comes on. Do you think i have the same problem? Can my DCS unit be faulty?

  • you own fault for living so far away froma bmw dealership. bmw over hear has a bumber to bumber warranty for 3 years of the car. which u can xtend as well

  • @tvain86 that is an asinine comment and irrelevant. Go get your facts straight.

  • @Tyrewt thats how we have it. 1 series to x6 everything 3 years bumber to bumber free warranty. dont blame bmw if you live 6 hours aways from a dealership!!. thats not really clever. and is very relevant how far you live away or if you can afford a car.

sorry sir but you shot yourself in this foot with this situation. there surely must be a garage who fixes bmw close to you. i got 2 dealerships withing 5 miles.

  • @tvain86 glad to hear u got it fixed. and i shall keep on trolling hear . to see how some likes to waste their time by posting a video like this!

  • @tvain86 Clearly you're incapable of rational thought, so I'm going to set you straight.

    1. My geographical location has NOTHING to do with the failure of the DCU.

    2. As stated in the video description, it was a NEW car. Thus covered by warranty for 4 YEARS. The issue was FIXED accordingly.

    3. Nowhere did I BLAME anyone, it was a genuine part failure.

    4. Intelligence, income and location of dealerships were not factors.

Go troll elsewhere and don't post again. Thanks.

  • @Tyrewt Oh I would say intelligence is a factor because if you were intelligent you would not have accepted the car from a repair with an existing or new fault still present. You can't get any more noticable than something waving infront of your face, unless you really can't see too well.

The definition of a troll isn't someone who points out the obvious to you even if it does make you look stupid, so don't start trying that one. It's time for you to see a doctor or you will get sectioned!

  • @blackboykwayne1990 All new BMW's have the "chime" regardless of the presence of iDrive. It happened when they made the switch to electronic signaling.

  • @Tyrewt The non-idrive models have a boring standard ding, but the I-drive models have this chime .

  • @10camss Umm... no, the chime heard in this video is non-iDrive.

  • Acuratinigga Audis are vws with a high price tag and my 335 is fine u smart ass

  • whatever you do, DONT try anything that anyone may have suggested, Take it to bmw, only they have the software to find out whats really going on, should be under warranty anyways

  • wow a car this young should not have so much issues, you will actually be lucky if you get 90k miles on this piece of junk. should of gotten a tsx v6. these bmw's are not made to handle a beating. FACT

  • Looks like a programming issue, bring it to BMW and they will know whats wrong with it, should be a warrantee job

  • what is your problem?

    it started...

  • @bmwfankatwijk Read the description, or pay better attention to the video.

  • yeah lexus is not BMW, lexus is comfort, high quality, for me quality is everything that I need from my investment to the car, I have BMW and believe me BMW-is the most Rubbish quality car ever made on Planet earth, tons of continious problems , constant brakes, crap suspension, crap electrics and electronics, very cheap interior materials used, cheap plastics everywhere

    OWNED

  • I meant my 2007 335i

  • BMW is just plain junk. See my videos about my 336i, I feel your pain.

  • @BMW335iLemon I'm pretty sure BMW has come a long way since the 1988 336i!

  • @Tyrewt they have actually gone down hill, you think your current gen 3 series can stack up against the older models. if you were a smart person you would know that already, you will be lucky if you get 150k miles out of that car without paying for it tice cause of maintnance. the current gen beamers are fucking delicate crap, how do i know, i owned 750 li 2007 i sold thats piece of shit and recouped 75 percent of my money. i drive lexus LS460 2009. besy choice i ever made

  • @acuratlnigga Lol dude, your fucking Lexus is just a crappy ass electronic Toyota with a HUGE pricetag, AND its ugly as fuck

  • @Tyrewt You see, this is the problem when the US decides to be cheap and make their own BMWs instead of importing the real deals from Munich, Germany. In my country, we bring ours in from Germany. The only issue is that the cars are very heavy (this means huge road tax fees) and expensive (a 3-Series can start at $209, 000). But in the end. you wind up with a car that is of pure quality, so you don't have to worry about your wipers going off when you start the car, unless they were left on.

  • @FowVayJetta The 3-Series is built in Germany. The only BMW models built in the USA are the SUV X3.

  • @Tyrewt as well as the 1-series. the two don't match. Well, i dont get how a top quality German car could be doing crap like that. I have yet to see or hear about something like that happen in Barbados.

  • @FowVayJetta i think this is that one in a million case. where he was just unlucky. but to live 6 hours away from a dealership doesnt help the situation. he should have just got himself a pick up truck or something

  • @tvain86 relevance?

  • @Tyrewt X5 and X6 also ;)

  • @zacharyhocutthsm Those statistics are of course variable and subject to your driving style. The 335i gets decent gas mileage and is listed on the BMW home page.

  • @zacharyhocutthsm 300-horsepower twin-turbo 3.0-liter engine turns a 0-60-mph time of 5 seconds. No turbo lag, I've been happy with it but may upgrade to an M3.

  • @zacharyhocutthsm Starts perfectly normal. The 330i would have turn key start, all newer BMW's (including 335i) have push-button start.

  • @blackboykwayne1990 Yes, working perfect fine since they swapped out that part for a new one.

  • Small request, but could you record the sound of that door chime and put it on here?

  • Odd request.... what do you need it for?

Trade ya for a ride in the McLaren. ;)

  • Mehdieminem:

Your statement may be true stock for stock but save $15k and buy a 335i and spend $1k on her in performance upgrades and it's bye bye M3.

    And noobiecheez:

is350 is a horrible car... Who wants a "luxury car" that has it's dashboard surrounded by plastic. And horrible sluggish non-Sporty handling gets u nowhere with all that power... Not to mention its had it's own set of problems, just like EVERY car has.

  • Yea u should get a Toyota instead err I mean Lexus sorry...

  • did u lose compression on cylinders?

  • Comment removed

  • Hi, I am thinking about buying a new BMW. I will probably buy the 328i or the M3 but I cant decide. If I get it are there problems with them?

  • 328 to an M3 is completely different driving experiences. Depends where you live, utilization and what you're looking to spend. I'm going to sell my 335i and get an M3.

  • Listen, there hasnt been a year or model of BMW that has never had a problem. And if ur buying, u better be car savy. when that warranty goes out, so is the money in ur pocket.

i have a BMW and my fear is driving far. it might get me from point A to B but not back

  • Buy a 335i coupe and chip it... it will out pace the M3 and is a lot cheaper;)

  • ur so stupid 335i is a great but not even close to M3.

  • @mehdieminem but when u tune a 335i with just an ecu tune...no hardware tune u get really close to an m3. like a jb3 tune or vishnu

  • I've had nothing but problems with my BMW '03 325i. A great driving experience yes, but nowhere near reliable as what I thought I was gonna get.

  • Ashton6637 heck yea.

  • buy an a old car men!

    that cars is spencive! haha

  • Cars a lemon. will never be fixed right

  • Maybe you should read before contributing a jackass comment. The car was fixed under warranty and hasn't experienced an issue since.

  • You should take this video and others, the next time you visit the BMW workshop and demand they fix the issues. Also prolonged use of the wipers with no water will burn out the wiper motors, you should demand they be replaced as well while the car is still under warranty.

  • As stated in the video info box, the issue was attributed to a faulty DCS united and replaced.

  • Airbag And ABS Light? I Think The Airbag Light Means Failure With The Bag.

  • any car in this life may have problems.. because of that they made the warranty...

  • BMW LEXUS MERCEDES INFINITI

    4EVER

  • hell ya motherfucker! imports forever!

  • Mercedes are built incredibly badly.. So shut up

  • @SMOOODY13 yeah all german cas are rubbish execpt for Porsche !!!

  • @kentau123 couldn't agree more. BMW's are the worst of them lately. Too bad because they are beautiful and drive incredibly for those few miles till the inevitable cascade of electronic failures.

  • @SMOOODY13 No, not realy... Lol ever drove a Mercedes? Probably not because you are COMPLETELY talking shit...

  • CAN-Bus Problems. not very often :D

  • at 2:55 what a happy sound for a sad failure lol

  • The problem with modern cars is TOO MUCH ELECTRONIC SKULL-DUGGERY going on! Keeping it a little simpler could avoid alot of this. Modern Bimmers have ALOT of electronics in them!! Argghhhh......

  • and in what year was lexus built ?

  • That's so relative...The fact is that products in the USA have lower quality, than the product produced in Japan. Infact Japanese products have the highest quality. USA make lower quality products, that's worldwide known fact! Just look at USA car engines. Their consumption is about 20l/100km, as in Europe is about 12l/100km...I 'm not saying USA doesn't know how to build, they just don't want to...it politics :)

  • But this is a German car, made in Germany. I agree with you, no1 can beat the Japanese as far as quality is concerned.

  • what about hyundai genesis USA car of the year?

  • Hyundai quality is getting better and better and the Japanese should watch out, but for its not a luxury car.

  • I believe its a battery problem my 335i never had this kind of issue i would never trade my 335i tho

  • I believe (not knowing for sure) that in all push button start ignition cars, you have to push it at least twice for it to start. The first time is just for the electronics to turn on.

  • No, push once with foot on the break. This issue was resolved long ago though.

  • oo I forgot about that.

  • I might even trade in my Subaru for a BMW 335i next year.

  • It too me 10 min to find the Hood latch that is were every car has it, my left foot. On my Brother's 5 Series when I borrowed it. I even look in the Manual book on every page LOL

  • 1. When its raining drive the 6 plus hours to the dealer ship so u dont look like a fool

    2. Call the dealer ship and ask them to send someone out to look at it my dealer did that for my sis car and she is 30 min tops from it

    3. call a towe truck and tell BMW that they are paying for it. Just wondering my sis had one and it was harbol with problems now i want one are they better since 2003

Dont try to fix then they will mak u pay for everything insted of them paying for it trust me

  • lol i like number 1

  • lmao.

  • You could have the same problem with an Lexus. Anything man made is subject to failure, not every car off the assembly line is perfect.

  • True

  • haha if you had ever driven a 335i you wouldnt be saying get a lexus LOL

  • sure...tell that to my is250 that wouldnt start because the ecu malfunctioned at 1,250 miles.

  • man take it to a BMW dealer and show him the car!! i think they're gonna give u another car this cant be!! my friend had something like this problem in his BMW 320I but they fixed it and now it's workin gr8

  • get an infiniti :)

  • If some1 works hard to get a bmw, and then the problems would start then???

  • I'm not too sure I understand what you're trying to ask me. Can you be a little more clear?

  • OK If some guy works his ass off. Working long hours, try to earn enough money, so that he can buy a bmw 335i.

After 1 week of enjoying his new car, 1 morning his car wouldn't start.

Imagine how disappointed he would be!

  • Perhaps you should read the video description though. The issue was intermittent at best, the car started just had a few issues and was also FIXED with having one part replaced.

  • I'm still trying to figure out what the hell is going on with my IPOD switching to radio. Or even weirder, no radio on and then the car decides to turn on the radio on its own...

  • did you get the problem solved? if so what was it?

  • Yes,was a bad DCS unit. Had it replaced and haven't had the problem since. This post was updated, see "More info".

  • My Father in law has a 335, prob had it a year or so, he hates it it's a complete LEMON, It all started with this same starting problem. It has spent over 3 months in dealership workshop all up in under a year!!!!!!! He's cursing, and they won't give him a new one at all. It's funny because he's always had Mercs and loved them for there reliability, never had probs, then he got the NIGHTMARE 335!!! Oh well, I enjoy telling him how my last 3 lexus' have never had anything but a flat tire..

  • LOL, you enjoy telling your dad how long your 3 lexus last lol. Which lexus?

Bmws are really nice cars, but the troubles really scares me.

  • Undoubtedly BMWs are stunning in every way, I just love them, In answer to you question I have had an SC400 and 2 different GS300s, reliability has been extremely good, TOUCH WOOD (probably fake wood in my case) LOL. Cheers.

  • bmw 335i is good, but bmw 535d is better than bmw 335i :D

  • Don't be a hater. There isn't a point to your comment, you're comparing two different level of cars. Would be like me firing back with a "M6 or M3 is better than 535d".

  • was that BMW produced in USA?

  • Nope, Germany. As most BMW's that come to North America are. I think only the X series (SUV's) are made in the States.

  • Well im not too sure about the X5 but the

X3 is made is Austria or Australia. I forgot

which country, but its not made in Germany for sure!

  • Yup. Yeah, I've seen one other software issue like this. That's it. Very Very Uncommon.

  • It's scary your car's problem

  • bull shit i had a benz the fuel pump blew 3 times mercedes quality is very bad

  • Bullshit my father had a ML320 before, and it just kept breaking down all the time, steering wheel leaked oil, panel lights always appeared(all lights!), middle seat always got stuck, and we couldn't move the seat and went through the back seat.

Glove compartment always broken. All this kind of shit just kept happening!!!

My father then bought a Lexus RX330 and don't have these kind of problems!!!

Anyway, I think mercedes had improved the quality of the new ML-Class and other models.

  • lmao "steering wheel leaked oil" ahahaah

  • you use the metric system in canada? oh. i thought you use the imperial system.

  • after that on the bottom right side you will see a black module with a blue and a black connector. pull them out and inspect. make sure the JBE is firmly planted into the fuse holder because there is a connection behind there too. good luck

  • it could be a few things ... A bad DSC module which your steering angle (szl) communicates with over the F- can. to or you may have a internal fault with the Junction Box Electronics module (JBE). this would be why your wipers are on at all times. check your connections at the DSC module and the JBE. to access the JBE first remove the trim around the cup holders and remove the 4 T20 torx screws. then the 4 on the top of the glove box and the 2 for the botom kick plate.

  • yo the problem is your starter switch is probly loose or with those sorry ass cars your shit wont start just becuase your door is open lol you know technology these days

  • Actually, you're wrong. The issue was a bad DSC unit. Simple fix.

  • So... the bmw handles better than a lexus is350, the bmw for $2k chip will go in the 12's... but what... thats it??? handles better and easier to mod, whatelse?

  • looks better? is a BMW? duh.

  • easier to mod?!

  • its just a computer issue. If the engine starts and runs properly then the computer must be the problem, Usually the best way to reset is just restarting the engine but seeing as this doesnt work, try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. I'm a BMW technician from Col Crawford BMW in Sydney, Australia, so you can take my word for it!

  • The DCS unit was replaced this week. So far so good.

  • bmws make the coolest chime sounds

  • fuck you !!!!!!!!!

  • so did your mom, Fuck me...

  • so did your mom, Fuck me...

  • your mother is bitch

  • fuck you !!!!!!!!!

  • lol, forget it. Thats the best you come back with? lame ass

  • never seen this before, supposingly it is a hardware problem or a connector is not connected properly. drive to the dealer as long as you still got the warranty, tell him everything you know and how long it persists. BMW has a great service and they will take care of this and fix it.

  • Thats good advice get a Lexus IS350! after 1 year and 17k miles with my previous crap BMW M3 I had enough. 7 repair trips to the dealer one time even left me and family stranded. got an 06 IS350 now 2 years old and almost 30k miles this lexus has been perfect no repairs.

  • get a lexus... maybe the is350 is a good switch car... but ur not gonna be able to get out of ur purchase i think ....

  • at least you are fortunate enough to experience a bmw. unlike us lower class people that can bairly afford the honda accord i own. insurance is quite high.

  • This has nothing to do with iDrive.

  • BMW IS GARBAGE

  • Do what the guys above said. Press the Road Side Assistance. Since you live 6hours from BMW let them send a tow truck and tow ur car away, papers come back and ur car should get towed back for FREE

  • They don't return the car. It is the customers responsibility to get it from the dealer.

  • u knw why the wipers didn go off, there is still power in the car, even in my 745 its the same, yu have to take the key out

  • You dont put the key in the car its not really a "key" as much as a computer

  • ye i guess ur right loll

  • I had the same problem and i brought it to Dealer and they said that it was a stupid load error. It happeneds on 1 of every 100 bmws. I hat that so much. I brought it to the dealer twice so far for the same issue. one more time and Massachusetts Lemon law states they have to give me a full refund!!!!

  • Go to your dealer. There was 1 exact incident. Its a real quick fix. They'll repair it real fast. Its just a stupid software error that wasn't installed right, or missing a file. This was very rare!

  • Software was not loaded correctly in your vehicle. Or there could be something wrong with the electronics. Take it to BMW and have them fix it under the warranty.

  • OMG I'd be pissed....

  • Its the DSC box, go have it checked by bmw

  • push the roadside assistance

have them tow it to BMW

and have them tow back paper work and ur loaner

and if they give u shit...GIVE THEM A PIECE OF UR MINE...when it comes down to customers

    BMW doesnt want bad reviews

  • Hi from Greece.

Even if i have the E46 BMW i am not the best to help.

I guess (as you mention on your 5th point) that there's sth on the diagnose of ABS-Seat belt.Drive to your dealer mate iMMEDIATELY!

  • The issue was resolved, read the note. :)
