I need a passenger side front fender in the two tone light blue/dark blue combo. We could only find a white one and it looks like shit. Any help is appreciated.
To me this is like save the children comercials,,we need a big Burl Ives looking dude asking people to send money to save these pore cars, for only 90 cents a day you can sponsor one of these cars and save it from it miserable conditions
i would buy that whole body, (switch the VIN with one of my parts cars of course) and keep it going, because 130,000 doesn't mean anything with these cars
holy shit people would die for these old cars in the north country there hard to find here.... the most they would of brought is $3,500 but im laughing now because they cashed it in for cash for clunkers lol wait till those fools get the tax bill on that $6,000 they got for there old car lmao stupid people fell for it its like winning the lotto they get more than half back and tax you after that haha suckers!!
@DeAngello100, well the car it self is probably somebodys washing machine now or dryer....since it has long been crushed! But i still have a few parts left for 1986 to 1990 caprices.....what do you need?? PM me. LaTeRz, -BOGAR!
@j45007, All four doors (if not all four doors then just driver and front passenger doors), front windsheild, original tranny if possible (to rebuild), and driver seat.
I just went to the junk yard tuesday and I got a red chime box out of a 84 Oldsmobile delta. I have the blue chime box and I will install the red box to see if there's any diference in the chimes I think it's about the same right?
@Huije31, Hey dude....make a video of the sounds and the differance. My first guess is that it will be different...because GM used a number of different ones in these years...and its hard to say which one you Got with that red one. I used to think that if it was the same color or if it came out of the same kind of car that it would be the same...but its not. Kinda fun to switch them out once in a while, to try different ones. I got more here if you need them. But yeah man...MAKE A VIDEO! -BOGAR!
@bigbacon3813, I actually just sold a few days ago the seat belts. But i may have more in my Garage and also on my next rip i can get more. What color do you need?
Like the first one in the video (blue). I don't want one with rust on it.... And how much do you think the shipping can cost to me? I live in montreal,Québec,Canada. postal code: J7T 1Y5. Thanks.
I have a 1996 Caprice at the moment, I have an eye on a Roadmaster wagon or the 1990 Caprice last year for box style, might just end up buying the 90 Caprice. The sound and ride of a GM B Body is relaxing in my opinion, to some it's a clunker, to me it's a JEWEL!!
@macJC50640, Thanks alot for noticing and commenting. I'm Pleased to read all your comments on a few of my videos and look forward to them in the future. -BOGAR!
that so sad i love the old school caprice classic i think that the best caprice ever and it last along time i bet that car could go for 400.000mil so so so sad
What a total waste of good cars somebody could have used, and all those parts right now simply going to seed. That '85(?) Delta 88 was really sad to see sitting as such.
When ever I need car parts, a bone yard like pick-n-pull is the place to be. I own a 1981 and a 1985 chevy citation X-11 which are the sport models. These cars are rare, so I do routine maintenance on them. Ashame to see these 80's cars in junk yards.
Makes me cry when I see these priceless great old cars especially when there in fantastic shape like this one to see them in junk yards :( I'm a huge GM B-body fan!!
Cali junkyards make me laugh. all the cars are usally perfect... Maybe they wound up there because of a bad transmission, Engine... Or a bad goverment program.
It kills me seeing all those cars in the junkyard with NO RUST on them! Being from Ohio, most all cars more than a few years old are rusting from the damn salt they use on the roads in the Winter! Around here you would never see a rust-free car in a junkyard!
The early geo metros get better MPG than smart cars and equals prius. A clean Geo is the wise choice for everyday commuting to save gas. For the special occasions and the fun of driving a big car, I love the old Brougham, Crown Vics, Delta 88's ect.....
Cool video Bogar! That Olds is from Tucson! That dealership was around when I first moved here...they still are but of course don't sell Olds anymore ;-)
interesting video, something tells me that '89 has been garaged most of its life, considering that dealership sticker and temporary paper work in the front window was not faded from the California sun, or any sun for that matter, if it was left out side you would have had a tough time reading it in 1991 let alone 20 years later in 2009! the sun is a killer on paper work! and i bet someone inherited that '89 from a family member and didn't want it, thus they clunked it, i bet some "GREENIE" did
Hey Andrew, yeah i,m looking for one to buy also. I want one between 1988-1990. My first choice would be 1989 or 1990. I have liked Caprices since 1995 and really took an interest in them right about in 2000 since i saw mint looking one rolling around in my town. I'll have one shortly. whats your favorite features about them? -BOGAR!
I would want a 1989 I think so I could get the fuel injection. I just want a car with some integrity and I can feel safe driving in because they are so solid. Bench seats are prime when you have a girlfriend and also so is having a V8 haha!
Hey BOGAR. One more great vid. Behind that one Caprice was a brief glimpse of a maroon Monte Carlo that was clean. I had one of those. Great Car. I wish I was there - I would have tried to snatch it. Anyway, Thanks again. Sincerely,d JAMES.
@buzzclark, I made sure to get a glimpse like that of that Monte Carlo to see if anyone would notice or say something. LOL. But yes i really liked seeing these Monte Carlo's BRAND NEW rolling down the road along with other 80's cars, i was always impressed by the front grille style n stuff for some reason. Oh man!!!! But when i saw the refreshed Cadillac Broughams in 1990-1992, thats when i drooled Looking in car mags. back then in the FALL of 1989 before being released in the SPRING. -BOGAR!
Hey B. You sure do manage to be in the right place and the right time. Do you have connections that let you know there is a cool car for sale or something?? Right now I have to drive a 89 Jetta because that's all we can afford. My wife wants a Camry - but you know it's a guy thing. I want another Crown Vic. It was a mistake buying the P71 as with high performance machines they cost an arm & a leg to fix. Yea I just want a stock crown vic. Thanks. Sincerely,d JAMES.
@buzzclark, yes people,"connections"always cntct me bout buying/selling prts, whole cars/trucks...new/used...anything.Sum things i take & sum others i turn down. Plus i bn around all these type of car things 4 so long, i no alot of people. i no where to go & got da connections,so people call me 4 dat 2. in addition i do so much of it myself. 1 of my favorite things 2 do is get together wit a couple buddys, work on things and stuff. For Sure! ts funny u pickd up on it.LOL.Good Observations.-BOGAR!
Man...those are some sad examples of what could possibly become spare parts donors or who knows...maybe project vehicles for whoever would wanna give it a shot....cool vid J :)
88brougham, were waiting for you to list the stuff you need. LOL jk jk im sure u could use a few parts off this, i recall u saying u wanted to upgrade your speedometre to the more gauges one.
@khfan96, Great!! Thanks dude. It was a good refreshining of the start up, but i will be alternating themes now and then. so you like the beat? Good to see you visit us again, what you been up to? -BOGAR!
@philldholes, yeah not many amphicars around. I was lucky to see this one in person up in wyoming while i was driving thru last summer, On one of my many commercial long haul trips. -BOGAR!
so let me get this straight.....a mint condition 1989 chevy caprice classic in MINT CONDITION and only 139K ends up going to cash for clunkers and later on getting it's engine seized and put into a scrap yard. what an epic fucking fail! im glad Cash for clunkers in over!
@northsiderollers, Beieve me i would if they sold it. BUT unfortunately, once a car is in that lot......it is forbidden to be sold. And double trouble for that car is that it entered in the C4C program, so that made the poor thing CONDEMMED twice! Thanks man, whatchu up to today? -BOGAR!
Cash for clunkers should of never been done. All it was, was a subsudy for the rich. That is not my idea of change we can believe in. Barack Obama to help the lower middle class and poor, get gas consumption down. He should of spent that money used on the clunkers program to subsudyze mass transit. Half of the money should of went towards urban rail projects. Completing the 2nd avenue subway project in NYC so its full lenght. Extensions to Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx. New Lines in other citys.
In Buffalo badly in need of jobs, metro rail could of been extended to Amherst, Metro Rail line down Genesee Street to the airport. Elmwood line to Kenmore. A new subway, or el line in Chicago. New subway line in Boston, Atlanta, Los Angelas, Miami, Houston, Philadelpia. Other 50 percent of other half should of went to fare box operating aid subsudys, to stabilize transit fares, fare decreases, Rest of the money should go to transit service increases. Would also be bus fleet increases = jobs.
Transit fare decreases means money saved, that would be spent in stores. Further boost for the economy = jobs. That would of been a true job creating stimulus. Long term millions of less gallons a year saved in gas consumption. Big reason for high price of gas, pollution is high amount of people driving in China. Much of that pollution drifting to the United States. Take 100 billion, and subsudyze subway building projects in China. Result millions less gallons of gas being burn = cheaper gas.
Another thing about the cash for clunkers program used cars that people that can not afford new car payments, leases, could of been able to buy those cars. Cash for clunkers results in less used cars available. Used cars now being more expensive. Nothing but a subsudy for the rich. Great classic beautifull cars ended up being wasted in that program. I love Chevrolet Caprices, El Caminos, Olds 88s, Cutlasses, Monte Carlos. Was one of each there. Also result is going to be less used parts for cars
A beautifull 1970 Olds Cutlass ended up going into that program. Big waste. I use to watch her start it every morning. Beautifull car. She did not want it anymore, she should of sold it to someone that would of bought it, put work into it, . She could of got 1,500 for it. Those familiar with the Park Lexington , 3rd ave, 2nd avenue area on 28th,27th in Nyc would see that car alot. Plate said Kittys 70. I thought was never getting rid of it. Did due to Obamas clunkers program. Big waste.
Another thing about Obamas clunkers program, a lot less money is, was now spent in other areas of the economy. Result retail job cuts. Any UAW jobs created from Clunkers. In the future will be laid off with more. He caused a lot of people that would of bought new cars anyway between now, and 4 years from now, to do it all at once. Result even less UAW jobs in the long term. Cash for clunkers program was nothing but a big clunker. Subsudys to the rich, not my idea of change, we can believe in.
The headliner in that looks great for how old it is. Mine's being held up by a thousand push pins. lol
