the best part of this game are the boss battles, theryre creative compared to most games and exellent music to boot and some even pose a challenge even after you know how to fight em
The part where you have to use the mirror to get through the rings (or links?) looks pretty tricky. Strangely, it reminds me of Crystal Palace in Paper Mario, where you have to solve some of the puzzles by using the clues the "reflection" of the mirror gives you (such as destroying the clubbas to destroy clubbas on the other side of the mirror, or using your reflection to hit the ! switch).
I remember the Crystal Palace. The puzzles here aren't quite as complex, but that's reasonable considering that when a game is about flying, breaking up the flow is a no-no.
The mirror hall is actually a reference to the Soft Museum world in the original NiGHTS. The museum contains a mirror hall where all of the hoops and Blue Chips are invisible and must be obtained by looking at the reflection.
Nah, that's the explanation in the cutscene that came right before this. I'd put them up, but they run the chase missions above the YouTube time limit.
All of the stages seem to have that "everything represents something" trait that dreams have. Lost Park looks the way it does, for instance, because it represents how Will is always feeling lonely.
By the way, the cutscenes for Memory Forest run about 6 minutes, then takes you back to the hub world. Then you have to go back in, and THEN you get to play.
Well, that's most of society today; everything seems to have a hidden meaning to most. So, it's not too surprising that they'd have the same thing going on with dreams.
And that seems like a lot of running around to do. But it looks like fun, so I'm guessing it's worth it.
You get to hear a lot of cheesy acting, that's for sure. But that's a normal thing in video games. My favorite line is, "Go over and touch NiGHTS. You'll see what I mean. That is, of course, if you're interested in that sort of thing."
The idea that dreams are symbolic came from psychoanalysis in the 1950s, and more specifically, Sigmund Freud. It's an idea that people continue to believe in today, and the dream worlds here were made with that approach. (The original game had no such thing.)
Nice. I might have to give this game a whirl myself if it proves to have all these cheesy, buy-em-at-a-dime-store lines. Those are always entertaining.
And you don't have to tell me about Freud; studying psychology and sociology for years and I've heard Freud's theories about a million times. I guess things are more like that now because not everyone takes refuge in complacency anymore.
It's a really abstract game. NiGHTS is a jester that brings happiness to kids hearts. It's a really upbeat game, with pretty graphics and great music, but it's really obscure at the same time.
It first debuted on the Sega Saturn, which is probably why it's pretty unknown in the first place, but it looks really fun. I'm thinking about getting it.
It's a shame, since the original NiGHTS was supposed to compete with Super Mario 64. The games came out at about the same time, and both got almost unanimously positive reviews. Both have a GameRankings average over 90%, but the PlayStation was the wild card that messed up what would have otherwise been a pretty even race.
I was in elementary school when the Saturn came out, and it stayed around until I was in middle school. I knew about the Sega Saturn; it surprises me a bit that it's so unknown.
I BEAT THE WHOLE GAME AND UNLOCKED THE SECREAT ENDING!!!! THIS IS SOO EASY!! I JUST CANT GET ALL THE DOORS!

Nice description, Overhazard. "Much of the place seems to be made of brittle glass, representing the fragility in Helen's heart." Deep. ^_^

Lol. I agree. I never even knew about the Saturn until recently, when I researched video game history. Such an unknown system...

They are both great games from what I have seen. The PSX oes not impress me it is a super Nintendo on steroids with a CD drive.

Okay then. I'll upload a video of Memory Forest, then I'll upload "Labyrinth Guide."
The whole thing is a hall of mirrors. There's a lot of guess-and-testing, but the Blue Chips always shows you the correct path out of a maze.

Oh, "Broadway Guide." I'll eventually upload that. Be patient.
