There is no skater who is good at both flip(inside edge) and lutz(outside edge).

Some skaters are good at flip, the others are good at lutz.

Mao is good at flip.

So this edge of lutz is enough outside as flip jumper.

It is senseless that you compare mao's lutz and lutz jumper's lutz.

Maybe Lutz jumper's flip was less inside and worse than Mao.

@TheYousum Filp jump should take off from SLIGHT inside edge, not DEEP inside edge. Lutz should take off from DEEP inside edge, like Yuna kim. Mao not only change her edge towards inside (even in that video) but she also stabs her blade onto the ice instead of picking the toe. If you look at Yuna Kim's lutz, her edge becomes more and more outside before take off. Yuna Kim and Joannie Rochette do perfect flip and lutz btw.

@tom4s2 Trust me, she doubled her lutz in SP and got !(attention) at 2009 worlds. She got e (wrong edge), fell, and got downgraded on her lutz at Japan Open just few weeks ago.

That's why Mao NEVER could fix her wrong jump.

I think her 3Lz is very powerful because her left leg draw beautiful S line and right leg rise so high.

this jump was inside edge not outside. she changes to inside edge right before the lutz take off. because she leans too forward when jumping so her body weight causes her to become flutz. she should not lean too forward.
