Oh don't get me on the whole Tom Cruise as Lestat thing. I am a loyal Anne Rice fan. I love Lestat, but I was so disgusted by Tom Cruise's role as Lestat. Though Stuart Townsend was not the golden Lestat I always pictured. He got Lestat's character right! I was so disappointed in Interview I almost didn't see Queen of the Damned. I was furous they combined the books. How do you put two over 600 page books into one 2 hr movie? Anyway, I was thrilled at Townsends portrayal of Lestat!

The only way to kill Edward is to rip him apart and burn the pieces, which is not an easy feat as it takes many vampires (or immortals with lots of strength) to do the process fast enough before he heals. If the two of them were fighting each other alone, Edward would win because of what kind of vampire he is. Yes, he glitters and is super emo all the time but what he lacks in personality and just plain awesomeness, he makes up for with just being really hard to kill.

I do have to say this, though....Despite how much I hate Twilight, the vampires in Twilight could probably kill a good majority of other kinds of vampires. Although Lestat is extremely powerful and hella badass, he is also really easy to kill because he still has to deal with being a regular vampire with limits (before he hooks up with Akasha and shares in her powers but even she has her limits)...Edward is practically indestructible.

They sat on the rights to make films for QOTD & The Vampire Lestat for ages, and it was only when they realised that their option was running out & the rights would revert back to Anne Rice that they mixed elements from both stories together & came up with the film that was Queen Of The Damned.
