Very nice guide, I might try this, bought a new sata drive there 2day.. have an xp disc.. just a recap...this program will mount the sata hard drive drivers into the xp iso for burning a disk to install xp on sata hard drive.. so it cuts out the need for a floppy drive.. Right>? :p

my problem is i cleaned my laptop without taking any backup or installing any drivers on it and as now i insert win XP CD in it it says no hard disc found and gives error. i dnt know how to resolve this prob. My laptop is HO with vista. now i cant do anything. please please somebody suggest what to do now? please tell em how to install XP on it now.

@thakur1006 The problem is, the windows XP disc doesn't incorporate the drivers necessary for you hard drive to sata connection on your hard drive to function. Find the sata drivers for your motherboard and use n-lite to add them to windows XP. Or your hard drive is just dead :/ GL

@thakur1006 You have to have a working computer, I assume you do since you just commented. Does your Laptop work right now with vista?

@thakur1006 Well, for starters you need to get an operating system on you computer, seeing as how it's a brick right now. I recommend you download a program called g-parted and burn it to a disc. then put it into your computer and boot up into g parted. In gparted you can format the hard drive. Then find the sata drivers for your laptop's chipset. And use n lite to add it to the windows xp installation. Then you should be able to install windows XP. What is the model of you computer?

@masMarko They must be in the wrong format, if it's in exe then it won't work, try extracting whatever it is before importing.

i cant tell anyone which specific drivers because everybody has a different piece of hardware. there are millions if not billions of different drivers there. You have to have the driver according to your hardware! All i can do by helping you is if you give me the model number of your motherboard and i can try to find you the drivers for your motherboard

I would say there's not much of a difference as long as you have all your drivers installed If you go with Vista you just won't be able to play older games like Mafia also if you have only go with vista if you have at least 2 gigabytes of ram and a not bad video card
