comets do not look like this. it's a twin engine commercial airliner. OR another very large twin engine jet. @dabeefsdad You sir are correct. That is a 747 contrail. They are very large and produce the exact same colors. This is most definately a 747 plane with contrail smoke. i've seen hundreds of them in Utah

This is space junk bouncing off of the atmosphere. Because of the distance away it looks like it could be coming toward you or perpendicular. Its at about 60-70 degree angle to the earth, moving away from where you are.
its a meteor entering the atmosphere and burning up, look at the greenish color near the main body, you would expect that from metal burning, also the trails are way to bright to be lit by sunlight alone

If this was a plane it would have to be descending. It would also be relatively close. Doing some 700 km/h at would cover enough distance during this nearly 4 minute clip to get noticably closer and also lower. It seems to be doing neither of these. On the other hand, I have looked for this every day using binoculars (and I live in new Zealand to) but have not seen anything. As Elenin has disinterated would it be impossible that this is waht that is. Whatever it was, it looks cool :-)
