Penny was approved for adoption of one of the six dogs she requested. It is a bit unreasonable for a person to try to take on that many dogs, especially special needs ones, like these dogs are. ALL the dogs are going to foster or adoptive homes, NONE of them is "lost" or "missing." I'd think, if she REALLY wanted what's best for the dogs, she'd be happy that Joy is going to a good home, instead of this constant complaining that she didn't get all six dogs she wanted.
Penny never called herself an angel. I did. I have been following the story in great detail from the perspective of several volunteers. The images of the dogs with Penny are a testament to how much they loved her, how excited they were to see her arrive everyday and how they trusted her. I was compelled to create this video to bring certain questionable issues to light. If you want to call that sensationalism, then so be it! ;)

There are no words. First, she DEFENDS the hoarder that was convicted of felony animal abuse, and then she calls herself an angel? Please. She may have thought she loved these dogs, but after 8 months, they still couldn't walk on a leash, they had mats so severe that they had to be cut away, and they were among the least progressed of all the dogs at the Metra. Love means doing what's best for the ones you love, not focusing on what YOU want. This is nothing but manipulative sensationalism.
It is obvious you either don't have your facts straight or are the same person that follows around any story written about Penny and makes negative comments...me thinks you work on the inside of the debacle and sham of a rescue organization that by the way, has cost one dog it's live because you people sent it to an 'expert handler' that rode him around in a car with an open window, he got startled, jumped out and was killed...yeah buddy, you people are real experts!
it is an outrage that penny wasn't allowed to keep either of the dogs. the judge in the case should be held accountable for letting the NESR take over. the NESR has deemed penny an unsuitable candidate. what a crock...
This makes me wonder...how many volunteers does it take to care for 200 dogs and how many of them put in applications to adopt and were actually awarded the dogs they applied for? If you look at the NESR website you will see that they indicate that volunteers will be given first chance to adopt. Why Penny didn't get Love or Joy raises a lot of questions.
Every volunteer who wanted to adopt a dog was able to; some adopted more than one. Penny was approved to adopt one of the dogs she applied for but then changed her mind and refused him. It *does* raise a lot of questions, although perhaps not the ones this video would like to encourage.
No matter how many times I watch this...my heart aches. Please.....to those who know what is right in their heart...Penny and Joy deserve one another. Begin bringing them back to one another....today.

Raises questions for sure ... why did Penny turn down the adoption of a dog she was approved for???!
People there are 2 sides to EVERY story.

Because someone else applied for the same dog and she gave the dog up to them.

This is so sad. I hope something can be done to return the dogs to Penny.

Any rescue group should put the well-being of the dog first. Why can't Joy have a home where she is already loved?

Absolutely moving video that chronicles how Joy came to love & trust her volunteer, Penny...please give Joy & now Love a voice!
