@caryncbreeef1969 i can't believe someone remembers the Ritz. I'm from the L.E.S. Do you remember Danceateria. How bout Infinity? Does The Electric Circus ring a bell? Or The Funhouse?
Saw the Plasmatics a couple of times at "The Rat" in Boston. Wendy topless, black electrical tape in x patterns across her nipples and diaphanous g-string. Badass woman delivering the metal.
The first time I ever heard the Plasamatics I was blown away, and this happened by luck. I found a dubbed version of Coup de Tat. It was a really crappy dub but even a crappy dub of Wendy's voice was music to my heart and quite simply incredible. I couldn't believe what I was hearing and couldn;t believe it was a woman singing. She and blew my mind! Wendy is and always will be an amazing talent at the top of her genre. She squashes all competition and her music is a real gift to us all. RIP.
I saw wendy in boston --U F -REAL--I saw Iggy Pop same place--Paradise Theater-----Someone mention Coutney Love and Wendy in the same sentence-----please--Courtney crawled out of the hole that Wendy made in rock'n roll.
I must say that I respect your taste, love patti smith as well, and salander, now if we get along on PJ Harvey's album Let England Shake, we kind of like some of the same stuff. Thanks for this, anyway, Burning
she was great.met her spent like a 1/2 hour with me it was 1980 i was 14.also one of the best shows i ever seen.i was luck saw them in 1981 org.members.richie stotts and all.sorry the japanese bass player wasnt there but jean was
The baddest bitch who ever lived.....it's a damn shame she doesn't get the respect and reverence that all the other dead rock stars get....I'll never understand why that is....
@BoozeMetal Because she was the REAL DEAL and thus considered a threat. There was nobody like Wendy O Williams and there never will be. Not ever. She was 30 years ahead of her time and even today STILL AHEAD. RIP.
I miss her so much I namned my daughter after her. The greatest woman, tough, proud and loud.

The real talent in the band, that which gave them the "Plasmatics" sound was Ritchie Stotts.
aboxforstuff 3 months ago
@aboxforstuff the "REAL" talent was all of the Plasmatics, including Wendy, just thought I would fix your typo
