why dont they go around in the opposite direction so when they do meet in the middle the car getting t boned is getting hit on the passenger side not on the drivers side, but then again whoever invented figure 8 didnt have safety in mind in the first place
You are one of the few people that i've seen that KNOW how to film a figure 8 race. most people film the cars going around the track. you film the intersection. your actually good at this.
back when our galesburg speedway had these figure eights, we had a guy have to be lifted out of the place by air support, it was very bad! if ur ever in michigan be sure to check out our galesburg speedway, we are closed and uncertain for next yr but check in on it, we could use everyones help

We had a wreck very much like this at our local track, and the car flipped onto its driver side, until they came and knocked it over. Nasty wrecks happen at the crossover, and usually cars are built right and no one gets hurt...
the thing about this is, there is so much equipment in that car that it minimizes the damage amount...that car's destroyed, but the driver isn't nearly as bad, I bet.
@radar698 oh trust me...there are much worse.... Someone I raced with in a ledgends car flipped six times (barrel rolled) down the straight away and then caught on fire....He finished 4th place on his roof!
@radar698 addaboy dannon. but no, it was not the worst at slinger, the worst by far was chris price #66 and dan "crazy" grazcylny #99 in the middle of the x. split chris price's car in half, both halves landing on the back stretch, chris had broken legs and did not race for years after. i was there.
Yeah, I met Dannon yesterday at my sisters annual pig roast. Dannon and I had gotten my sisters bike running after it sat for a year. Even though his girl said repeated times he's "he's gonna wreck it, he wrecks everything he touches". We let him any way. Brake-stand to wheelie to road rash. Outstanding! And for the record, Dannons a pretty kick dude.
justin is OKAY i am friends with one of the drivers sons that races at slinger speadway and we are friends with justins parents and the orange number 87 is ok he ended up doing the trailer race that night he has the Bret farve trailer.
How in the hell do you pass someone on that tiny little "staright-a-ways"
