  • I think I will just wait for holograms...

  • Dat miku.

  • Had this same idea O.o

  • Truly an "HD" experience right there... =I

Come on! They've had this technology since the late 40's you guys. Ever seen those "Hologram" images?

EXACT SAME PRINCIPLE, but with video images instead of printed images.

Even the one with less lenses would take up 50x the power of a normal television if you wanted similar quality.

Even then, the image would be 100% static on the TV unless you enjoy constantly moving your head around while watching your favourite movies.

  • Get well soon, narrator , did u catch a cold?

  • Of course they would use Miku...

  • I think the concerts are about to get a hell of a lot better now!

  • Using layers mean energy loss

  • 8 People are scared of the future...

  • japan=wizards

  • In the future we will watch entertainment through a big box in the room, and who says history doesn't repeat it self, lol.

  • dishoner famiry, hai!

  • We can assume this won't have a domestic use. You won't sit on your couch and walk around the room just to see the edges of the objects.

  • All these new glasses-free 3D displays are each logical progressions to realistic holographic displays, which will inevitably be the "end-game" for all displays. There's literally no better display than realistic holography in which it looks like the images are standing right in your living room, instead of on a screen. It will give a whole new meaning to porn lol

I hope we get to see this within the next 20 years - I'm pretty certain we will.

  • 初音ミク

  • what a waste of resources . theres much more effecient ways of achieving this

  • the U.S already did this in 2009

  • @narutocaprirequest2 mind showing?

  • @eleminatus

    yeah sure

  • miku miku :D

  • If I was nintendo I'd buy the rights to this patent for the next generation: by then it should at least be feasible enough for mass production and consumer use.

  • @HOLYCHAOSDRAGON this is a primitive, unoriginal and crude means of achieving this effect

  • @MammalAnonymous This is not true, digital holography is too hard, high resolution displays and integral imaging is the way to go, just look at the lytro.

  • MIKU!!

  • WTF is MIKU?

    @KyonKun0993

  • @KyonKun0993 Hatsune Miku? She's the animated girl with the blue hair in the video!! She's like super famous in Japan :D

  • pretty nice
