A friend just found this video after a conversation the other day about my having appeared on That's life in a nationwide robotics competition. It is so weird seeing it all these years later, having missed it's original screening. We auditioned at the Sundance Studios in Hammersmith and then on to Mme. Tussauds for the filmed finals. Tik and Tok should have been judging but they were gigging in France. May be more creaky now-a-days, but I still got the moves. Anyone else out there still locking?

These people look so immaculate. Tik and Tok are AMAZING. To have been in London in the early 80s would be a dream like no other :-( I want a time machine now and this is where I want to go to desperately!!!

@adaptiveprograms Were you one of the Scottish contingent? I remember one Scottish guy in the orange jump suit borrowing my blue wrap rounds and that was the last I saw of them. That was one hell of a fun day.

@alakazam1960 No we were the Bognor contingent, we were on the original show back in April 83 they did this competition as a follow on and we were invited to come and join in, it was a fantastic day, magnus pike and metal mickey, great fun...

The duet dressed in black with reddish hair, hail from Kirkcaldy. Will not name them to save their faces turning the colour of their hair. Who am I kidding, they are Edward McKenzie & Cindy Smiley, friends of mine (or they were) until now. Cindy is now married to my friend who, along with myself would also be seen doing the robotics at Jackie O's (mainly to silly songs like I'm in the mood for dancing by The Nolans).

I was one of the Robots on this show,and one of the original Bognor robots( named by Thats life , and not our choice)on the first show.I`m in the back with the dark haired chap in the white boiler suit( good friend of mine).It was filmed at Madame Tussauds london.I remember most of the faces,and Metal Mickey( really made of wood)Its great to see it again after all this time.Everyone who was there was given a blue certificate to say they had taken part.Still got mine.Has anyone else has?
