have you asked your vet for inner ear infection treatment? i had a rat who suffered from that loss of balance and thought it was a disability but some vet perscription and he was walking fine.
He's a cutey... Odd, and sad, but cute. I'm glade there are people like you who helped him thrive, even if it was for a short time. Usually animals with disabilities don't live too long. I did had a nerve damaged rat who live to 2 1/2 to 3. She wasn't too bad though, she just shook her head uncontrollably at times.
He ate and drank alright? Did you have to do special things for him (besides no shelving, of course)?
Bless your heart for looking after such an amazing little creature. I don't give a fuck what anyone says rats are the shit!! I had four but none have been that nice :)
So so sweet, bless you for looking after such a little beaut. P.S. the toilet roll tube in a sock is such a great, great idea! I'm making some immediately!! xx
@Slappy2112 Your sick, its not his fault he is like that. If he could help it he wouldent be born like that. You wouldent like it if you were, and you got name called. there is nothing wrong with disabilitys. what if you have a son or daughter who turns out to be disabled, would you call them a retard to....
Bless you for letting such a special boy live out his life on his own terms. It takes a really huge heart to care for such a special needs animal like that! I'm so sorry he's passed on, but glad he lived a happy life with you!
He was born that way. He had a genetic spastic neurological disorder. He lived a short but happy life. He passed away almost two months ago at 8 months of age. His life may have looked horrible but he really was a happy guy. And many people told me that I should have just euthanized him. But I think his life was worth just as much as any other. He didnt suffer. It was the only kind of life he knew. He will be missed. :(
don't worry, I was not making a rude comment on you keeping him alive, I think it's great you gave him a good life. I only said it was said because he looked like the effects of lab testing or something. RIP little guy
I remember your post about him in some of the rat forums. I am glad to see he is still doing well. It's awesome that you are taking such good care of him and giving him a chance at a happy life :)

@Slappy2112 Apparently you're no scholar.
The R-word is offensive to people.
This rat has a disability, many creatures are born with them. Who are you to pass judgement?
