I have a similar trick. I call it the robber. You lift one hand from the boxes, and with the other hand you bring the box its holding to the first hand, and bring that box to the first hand's exterior position, and catch the middle box(which is now outside) with the other hand. I never tried your trick, I will do so. I think they're pretty similar.
