  • Shady bar by the waterside with a disco floor. . . . . . .Seems legit.

  • ..."the seediest dive on the wharf"... I have long wondered if these type of speak-easy clips were dressed by the writers themselves and their first hand knowledge or is it second hand knowledge the description? The fight just happens to partially contain a pattern used to view girls in the late 60s and early 70s because there is no actual way to do that formerly without being caught, its trouble is it can finnish up as absurd as in this clip. Watch the trombone player, its a neon sign for it.

  • Using a cheat sheet, there's a disagreement about the decking of whats on the cards tonight, Just popcorn? or am i going nuts there's also hair on that girls forearm.

NB: seems to have thrown the chair at him because he wasn't watching at the viewing.

  • The party would have been a disaster had the guy by the jukebox not have knocked the bar nuts off the table, he almost forgot, let this be a lesson to all of us , never forget. They are lucky he at the last moment knocked it away in one fell swipe of the hand.

  • The guy that is supposed to pinch him looks like Nick Frost!

  • 3:52 - When the "dummy Ted" lands, look to the right and to the back of the crowd. You can see the real Ted in the background getting ready.

  • I could never figure out what war he was in that traumatized him so much!

  • This is my favourite scene from my favourite movie.

  • @stur1975 I couldn't agree more. When I was a kid this was the only English language film we had for a while, and this scene is the best. The amount of times I've made an idiot of myself trying to recreate Ted Striker's dancing in nightclubs... too many.

  • hays looks like trovalta back in 1980 saturday night fever was 1977

  • @MrBigglessworth not the vid, the music xD

  • @MrBigglessworth it's to hype this scene give it a more energetic danceable field like the song boogie oggie oggie its original format was slow then they sped it up.

  • At 0:59, innocent bystander hit by chair-wielding Girl Scout today.

  • 3:52 - Real Ted Striker behind woman

  • A classic scene from a classic film :)

  • worse than Detroit? well ? I dont know about that???

  • Gee, I miss traveling.

  • Sounds like the Chipmunk version of the Bee Gees.

  • @MiamiSouthPaw had to speed it up because they couldn't use the original. This wasn't not allowed so they could use a sped up version.

  • Why in films do the pitch of songs sound higher? You can really notice it here! And I thought the Bee Gees san high enough already! lol

  • Y does that old dude in the yellow and red stripped shirt throw popcorn Lolz after he takes his jacket off and u can see the stunt double

  • Joey. Do you like movies about Gladiators?

  • lol fuck your popcorn!

  • the Bee Gee's are badass!! haha

  • This is probably the funniest movie ever made.

    Ka-pow!!!:))lol

  • the 6 people who hate this had their heads thrown through a jukebox!

  • I had to ask the guy sitting next to me to pinch me....(Walks away slowly)

  • 3:51 Look into the crowd. Robert Hays is second from the right, waiting to jump out of where his stunt double landed.

  • @SecretService80 Wow, never noticed that lol...

  • ...it was worse than Detroit.

  • Good news Airplane fans, they're bringing it back to the big screen. Yes the funniest movie ever made is going to grace the big screen again!

  • @rzombi666 ,details?

  • Ever since he had a drinking problum...

    lol

  • Its an entirely different kind of flying altogether

  • @DomIstKrieg It's an entirely different kind of flying

  • Absolutely one of the funniest scenes in film history,

  • The best part when the old lady has hung herself after Ted's story is cut ! Other than that this is one of the funniest comedy I've seen.

  • shirly you must be kidding me

  • @ZSA150 I'm always serious. And stop calling me Shirley.

  • airplane is the funniest movie ever

  • Every man wants to be able to dance like Ted

  • This scene is epic.

  • This speeded up version of Staying Alive is superb. Love the clip, very funny!

  • The best part is when she swings him around by his feet and lets him go.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, the song is sped up to sound like dolphins, or the Bee Gees!

The dance sequence with Robert Hayes juggling is so damn funny.

  • To think that a movie from the 70's beats other great comedies of today... This movie should have its own hall of fame.

  • Ha Ha! You got that right, it is worse than Detroit (from my guess. I've never been there. I'm a Clevelander).

  • Ahahahahahaha girl scouts fighting....my favorite part of the whole film!!

  • Wow i really like all of his dance moves and the best part is the music becsue it's the Bee Gees Stayin Alive i am a big fan of the Bee Gees.

  • @Sushiman808 OOohhh sorry O.o and ok sorry the Leslie name sounded kinda like a girls name... well i hope HE comes back...

  • @Heylilvelvet comes back from the dead? only a miracle would let that happen

  • @445h Well, I sure do believe in miracles :)

  • @Heylilvelvet i do too, but maybe he is alive in his coffin and waiting or something

  • Now I know what the Navy likes to wear under their whites hah.

  • RIP Leslie Nielsen

  • Is it just me or has this been sped up?

  • @Bladerunner93 yeah it has been sped up.

  • The 6 people who dislike this video surely can't be serious!

  • Maybe one of the funniest parody movies ever.

  • @ hybmu stick in my head forever. first watched when i was 10 now 26 lol !!!

  • 6 people who disliked this sat next to Ted Striker when he told a story.

  • @flammapignus hahahaahahahaahahahahaahaha class

  • @flammapignus How are they still alive to hit the dislike button?

  • i peed my pants watching this video it was soooooo funnnny

  • @ThePauljump its like a spoof off of Saturday night fever

  • I love when the guy is about to stab the other guy, and then he stops, and stabs lower so he can hit the foam pad under his coat.

    This movie is hilarious.

  • at 4:12 = no wirework whatsoever

  • i think this movie is a good movie with robert hays

  • some funny sheit!

  • OMG 3:58 is probably the most awesome piece of dancing ever!! So funny.

  • "Staying Alive" is sped up a bit in the movie, but this actual movie clip has been sped up further on Youtube. So if you watch Airplane on videotape or DVD, the song (and the scene) will be slightly slower.

  • 0:51 The girl clips the camera. :)

  • aw man that was too funny

  • The best dance scene in movie history!

  • OMG- my favorite movie scene of all time! Between the girl fight, the pirates in the 'seedy dive' bar dancing and when she twirls him by the feet and he's got his legs wrapped around her waist- I don't know what's funnier. This scene will always make me crack up!

  • love it love it love this film

  • It doesn't matter how many times I see this, it still KILLS me. Especially when he starts juggling.

  • The sound's a little too fast...

  • "looks like i picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines. Hey Johnny, How about some more coffee"

    "no thanks"

  • Damn, don't fuck with the Girl Scouts!

  • I love when the fat old guy flips the basket of popcorn for no reason at the 1:33 mark

  • @kykyscout007 I know! I laugh my butt off each time they do!!!

  • its the diving board and the bullet that always get me.

  • You ever seen a grown man naked?

  • that drunk when the music starts is funny

  • The hat and coat throwback makes me laugh every single time I see this scene....

  • Fearless. Wacky. Relentlessly off the wall. Fucking side-splitting. Often copied, never equaled.

  • for the first couple of minutes i was like...wtf? and then it got a little interesting. lol

  • why is this funny?

  • @leonard316 For ppl with humor it is

  • Swish!

  • Stena Line LOL

  • This is crazy funny!..HA HA HA!

  • ez kész :)

  • the music starts at 1:10

  • the is two names for this film airplane or flying high

  • This was a very anti-disco movie. Not sure if they set off the backlash or were responding to one already underway.

  • 50 year old men in blue shirts and beanies are terrifying

  • bustin that move and prom next year haha

  • Wait...the bar was on the Barbary coast (i.e. north Africa), but filled with every lowlife from Bombay to Calcutta.

    HILARIOUS GEOGRAPHY FAIL.

  • @ivand1979

Hey, even Indian lowlifes have to take vacations, too, you know.

  • airplane!

  • i have this movie on vhs still

  • Epic movie!

  • 1:22 LOL

  • One of the funniest scenes in all comedies. Don't call me Surley :)

  • hahaha

  • So much going on here . . . one of the girl scouts trying to pull her skirt down after getting knocked down; guy who gets stabbed has a massive pad inside his shirt; the arm of the guy who throws Robert's jacket back at him (and the guy just standing there trying to block the arm from the camera's view, who obviously didn't do his job). Fun times

  • @tswift001 Also, when Hay's body double does a somersault, you can see Hay crouching behind the crowd waiting to jump up in the front.

  • 3:57 POW! haha

  • Comment removed

  • Pretty funny. Damn good scene!

  • CLASSIC

  • 1:04 That's a pretty bad ass punch... for a girl scout!!!

  • Absolute quality. As good as the original.

  • This is just one of the funniest scenes in movie history

  • I like the dancing fat lady at 1:18 XD

  • If you look carefully and keep track of the characters, it's the lady with the eyepatch also wearing white that's in the corner, not Robert Hays in the flip scene. She's in the beginning of the dance sequence and shows up in the crowd as Hays is first being spun and either moves or is standing behind someone in the part of the scene where Robert Hays springs out of the stairwell/floor.

  • One of the greatest scenes from any movie, ever!

  • Just enjoy the movie.........
