What has primarily helped to stabilize Iraq is negotiations with/payments to the Sunnis and Shias. Further, these negotiations were about the oil, and just recently the US oil companies lost their no-bid contracts to China. The Constitution is what was designed to protect us all. I want a president who understands and respects our rights, how about you? Bush has run over our rights, and McCain has voted with him more than 90% of the time. He can't really be the change agent for reform with a background like that, can he?

And I would add: the legislature is co-equal with the executive branch. How many times has the legislature been able to override the executive? Which has more power? Look at Palin in Alaska right now--she was unable to get the legislature to back down on their investigation into "Troopergate".
