Not to piss off the Govanites here, but this isn't really ground breaking. It sounds GREAT, but its nothing new under the sun. EVH was doing this stuff at least since '81 with Mean Street. He used to mention in magazine interviews about wanting to play like "black bass players".

Magazines were paper versions of the internet before the 90s. You could only logon once a month and it had limited content.

Check out the 6;15 minute mark of VH's Pleasure Dome to hear this stuff in action.
