When I was in the Air Force, we corresponded with the companies of some of our equipment and they would send in the stuff by UPS or FedEx.

There is an increasing tendency for guests of both major parties to come on and try to steer the conversation their way, to use the opportunity to get out a set of talking points no matter what the questions are. A good interviewer will try to keep that from happening.

If the government wants to continue deliverying mail they should get efficient by doing it as economically as possible and charge around 130% of what is costs to deliver a letter. Then my junk mail would stop also. Then UPS would start delivering mail as well.

You have the publicly funded USPS, but PRIVATE companies such as FedEX and UPS are still thriving even with USPS competing against them.

She was saying that UPS was more successful delivering letters than the USPS was. That is wrong. Because the postal service is so cheap, they get an overwhelming majority of letters.
He was right. USPS is not as successful as UPS in delivering packages. If USPS did not have the citizens subsidizing them, they would fail as a business.
Personally, no one won. No one got their point across very well.

For those who even care about having a clue: The host at the network gets to set the terms of the interview. When you come on, you agree to the terms, whether tacitly or explicitly. There is an increasing tendency for guests of both major parties to come on and try to steer the conversation their way, to use the opportunity to get out a set of talking points no matter what the questions are. A good interviewer will try to keep that from happening.

For the uninitiated, valid studies have been done regarding the idea of "liberal bias" in the American media, a fiction that travboy and others depend on for their very identity. It's not even close. There is a bias toward sensationalism and superficiality, but politically, there is in fact a very strong _rightward_, pro-corporate bias across the board--not surprising, since media outlets themselves are owned by corporations who stand to benefit.
