  • A science project that makes coffee and entertains you! How wonderful. And it's beautiful, too...

  • In the time it took me to watch this i have made my own cofee and drunk, and washed the cup, If your going to take this long mking cofee you ought to use some really nice coffe!

  • This thing looks like the Rube Goldberg of coffee makers. He would be proud.

  • not something you want to do at 04AM

  • Perhaps, but the coffee tastes great. And it looks really good.

Not for the every day occasion, but still very nice.

  • Hi walterillc,

If i wanted a machine that makes good expresso, do i need a separate machine?

if so, can you point me to one? I'm thinking of getting one that can make good expresso and coffee with the similar style as the one shown

  • I've got one and it's really cool to watch it work. The problem is, I can't get the coffee to taste good or even acceptable. I've used 2 of the measuring spoons of espresso - way too weak, 4 spoons still doesn't taste good. It's a shame because I love the way the darned thing works. Still, it will look great on my buffet and is definitely a perfect water boiler for when the lights go out. it boils the water in 10 minutes using alcohol burner.

  • Dear Sir,

I'm afraid the you used the wrong coffee bean. The siphon is designed to use speciality coffee beans, like Kona, Blue Mountain, Sumantra, etc.. Espresso mixed beans will taste pretty bad with the siphon. and we suggest you try to use hot water instead of clod water.

  • Dir sir,

The siphon is designed to brew single specialty coffee, like Kona, Blue Mountain, sumantra Mandehling, etc.. Use the siphon brew espresso beans might taste pretty bad. And we suggest you to use hot water instead of cold water. It might be more quickly and efficiently.

  • try using a coarser grind, for eg drip coffee. This because the water is in contact with the coffee way more longer then with espresso.

  • Man, I don't know. That looked too precious by half...

Put a Bodum presspot in front of me and beat it.

This thing looks like something the "massah" dreamed up to keep his slaves busy.
