I was at this game, 4 of the defensive starters didn't play in it , Van Bergen left with an injury, and Graham only played the first couple of series, and the defense was playing vanilla. That's why they looked bad.

Michigan is better than what people say they are...missing a couple people in certain places, but they will be set for a good year...and a lot better this year with statistics...give them another year, they got a good classic big ten team...I say with their schedule they will 5 easy possibly maybe one upset...

Agreed. they will NOT suck. BUt they will NOT make a big jump from 3 wins to 9-10 wins. the talent and experience isn't fully there...yet. I think they''l win 6 maybe 7 games. THEN, win over 8-9 games in 2010. Future looks bright.

I'm pretty sure our defense playing against our 2nd string offense didn't let them do anything EVEN without 3 of our starters NOT starting in the 1st sting secondary. Lol you're a joke. ur stupid 4 of our projected staters were out or only played in the first couple series! Donovan Warren out , Jonas Mouton out, Brandon Graham played only a couple, Mike Martin out, many more only played a couple even when our 1st string defense was in half of them wont be the starters at the begining at the year!

If we can't go .500 I'm not sure RR should get more chances. 3-9 is inexcusable...and 4-8 this year with this schedule will make me very displeased.. idk about you. I'm not saying it isn't realistic...but 6-6 or 7-5 looks more probable to me. I sure hope your wrong :/

The defense has Cissoko (5 star recruit in 2008), Warren (5 star), Brandon Graham(5 star) who can take over games by himself, Mike Martin who was a frosh All-American, Jonas Mouton (5 star), Obi Ezeh who also was a frosh All-American two years ago. Stevie Brown needs to step up but he is talented (Mid to High 4 star) and Brandon Smith (High School AA Mid/High 4 star). Also, J.B. Fitgerald Mid/high 4 star/ Kenny Demens 4*, Van Bergen same, Michael Williams 4*, The list goes on Big Will/ Turner5*

Then again it's still early so it all speculation, they could be 12-0 or 0-12 for all we know. Tate looks too good to be true which means he is very good potentially but probably not as good as he looks here...

back is Tate is a frosh, otherwise he could take over games, but even Frosh win and manage games. OSU had games when Beanie was hurt and Pryor had no line or help and the D was outgained but OSU was somehow 3-0 in that stretch. Our D won't be as good as OSU was in '08, but our offense might score the 28 ppg they averaged. I;m being realistic. I bellieve based on what i'm seeing and analyzing UM will be at least .500 which still sucks to say like thats good. But I would bet they get a sh*tty bowl

Geminiti69, are you serious. They're terrible. The only player they have is Tate. The rest are holding on to position until they recruit better players. If Toledo played them today, the score would be 24 to 10. Toledo has speed, Michigan has tomorrow.

He's the leader of the offense and probably the most important piece. Carlos Brown looked good, Junior Hemingway looked good. If Brown stays healthy our running backs are good...not great, not elite but more than serviceable. Matthews is a serviceable possesion guy ala Avant, Odoms is tiny, Stonum is an underacheiver, but Hemingway is a sleeper and I'm HOPING Je'Ron Stokes is as good as Manningham (it's possible). The interior line is okay, but our tackles aren't. The only thing holding Michigan

I'm a fan just like you, but the hand writing is on the wall. Michigan is about two years off from being a serious contender in the Big Ten. Devin Gardner will not sign with Michigan because Tate is to good, and I don't see Gardner sitting on the bench for three or four years. They may win five games. Thats it.

Yeah and I wouldn't dismiss what you are saying either, I think the possibility of another baaad season is there. I'm not on the bandwagon of saying "we're back", I'm saying I'm not convinced we'll be good or bad yet...I don't know and none of us do until they play. Logic tells me we WILL be better offensively because we can't be worse lol. From a recruiting standpoint we have talent on our roster, and it's a year older and more experienced so we WILL score more if Tate stays healthy...

You are right about one thing...2011 before we a BCS contender I think. Tate is good but Devin won't decommit I feel confident abt that. He Denard and Tate will all stay. Tate is the most likely to leave either through transfer or NFL draft.

Agreed. they''ll improve and not be shit like last year like everyone else thinks. However, they're NOT gunna win 9+ games, but I see 6 or 7 wins. Losses @illinois, PSU, ND, OSU and @Iowa. @Wiscy and @MSU will be tough to. THEN, in 2010, they'll win 8-9(+?) games. Kind of like ND. 2007ND=2008 Michigan (both 3-9), 2008ND=2009Michigan (6 OR 7 wins). ND will win 9-10+ games this year and Michigan looks the same for next year.
