  • I think a movie should be like a fun amusement park ride. This movie fits that description & is the reason it is in my top 5 movies of all time. I saw it in the cinema when it was released in 1981. I was 14 & hoping for a good time. It was an AMAZING time. Thank you John Landis! This is the BEST Werewolf movie of all time. It's funny yet scary at the same time. The dialogue is witty & the characters are charming. The soundtrack is uber. "It's almost full moon! He'll change!" - and did he! : )

  • c'est un des films les mieux realisé dans les année 80

  • c'est quoi le nom exacte de ce film ?!

  • Great tune for a great film. Classic film.

I'll never call you meatloaf again Jack....

  • Der Zerrissene

    Johann Nepomuk Eduard Ambrosius Nestroy

  • Greatest werewolf film in my opinion.

  • I'm an 80's child & when I think of this movie, it sends chills up my spine. From the trans4mation scene 2 the subway chase scene. It had me taking a dump in my shorts 4 months! 2 top it off when the wolf howls? The hairs on my arm would stand on end. Aaarrrggghhhrrroooooo!!! Aaarrrggghhhrrroooooo!!! Damnit, I just crapped my pants again...

  • I would've loved to see this kind of transformation from the chick in American Werewolf in Paris. Her transformation sucked ass!

  • I watch werewolf movies for the scary effect they have. But werewolves aren't scary when they look like a wolf ( such as in this movie) or they look too much like a man like " the wolf man ".Hairy men, or plain wolves just aren't scary. (this movie sucked) But they're scary as hell when they walk upright and have wolf heads like in the movies- silver bullet, dog soldiers, underworld trilogy, bad moon, and of course the greatest werewolf movie of all time, THE HOWLING !!- VERY CREEPY STUFF.

  • I loled so hard

  • cult classic...humor and horror....landis got to make it because he made the studio heaps of money with "Blues Brothers",...he makes a cameo in the tralflger square squence....he was a stunt man originaly....

  • I don't think David Naughton has gotten over this movie yet. I saw a recent episode of Psych in which he guested. It was about a werewolf.

  • i just watched the bluray 1080p verion. i have found old movies suffer from the 24fps audio pitch problem. the entire audio pitch is slower due to th slower frame rate. the bluemoon audio doesn't sound correct. nobody else has mentioned this issue. anybody else noticed this. you really notice the difference between 24fps and 30fps audio pitch. the blue moon audio doesn't even play at the correct pitch. the machine gunfire is really slow in the knightmare scene

  • Loved this movie 20 years ago. Still do. No special effects, no crappy unrealistic CGI. One of my favs.

  • 2:37 was always the scariest part for me as a kid.

  • great music

  • 0:17 RIK MAYALL!!!

  • Cult classic, awesomely awesome, funny and gruesome - THE DEFINITIVE werewolf transformation scene to date, bar none !

  • I wish this song were playing before/during he transformed

  • it's the benchmark by which all werewolf/horror films should be judged. It has humour, gore, incredible diologue and s/effects. Possibly the most complete horror film ever? Mr Landis, go to the top of the class.

  • is the movie called american werewolf in london?

  • saw this last night its amazing a must watch film!!!

  • awesome movie, good tunes included, grab some popcorn or chips and park your caboose on a comfortable chair, enjoy

  • Of all the werewolves I've seen in many movies, this one scared the shit out of me

  • @xShadowxPhoenix this movie was one of the first werewolf movies i watched and it freaked me out

  • i liked when the orc thing jumped in the windo and killed the nurse

  • @draklorian

    WERENAZIS!!!!

  • @draklorian lol me too when that happened i loled

  • This is still the best Werewolf movie ever made. Everything was perferct in this this movie, the story, the transformation, the pace, the script, the direction, the light, the angles, the director, did I said the transformation of the werewolf? And back then there was no CGI baby. Still with today's CGI no one dares to make a werewolf movie cuz they know An American werewolf in London cannot be touched. Maybe one day a good director will come and try, but I haven't fount it yet.

  • dog soldiers is better, but this film is quite good.

  • 2:03 was just really wrong

  • nice video iloved this movie its been a long time

  • @naks45666 I LIKE WHEN HE WAS IN ST. PETERS SQUARE AND YELLED PRINCE CHARLES IS A FAGOT LOL

  • 2:13 i coulda sworn i lived next door to that lady...

  • ich finde das ist der beste film aus der ganzen werwolf reihe.

  • this is quite literally one of my favorite movies of all time. I show no remorse in the event that this statement puts me in bad taste.

  • Probably in the top five horror films ever made. Certainly the best werewolf flick by a country mile.

  • Comment removed

  • Best part of the movie, for me, is a tie between the naked running through London scene and the transformation scene.

  • the lady in the movie is a slag. The nurse. Yuk.

  • @Kellystarrr her name is jenny agutter and she is a fine english lady

  • this movie scared the shit out of me when i was a kid. i guess thats what makes it so great!

  • @Hell6ing4a mine too :)

  • @Hell6ing4a It's the yardstick by which all other werewolf films should be judged.

  • when i was 10,i remember watching this...the thing ....and salems lot....utterly terrifying at that age!

  • lol i love the parts where his friend visits him...especially when they are in the porno theater, i kinda wanted to watch this, but now that i saw the slide show im pretty satisfied, all the parts i wanted to see were in the vid...funny

  • The part with the werewolf nazis always scares the crap out of me!

  • This my favorite werewolf movie besides the howling.

  • Howling was good and Silver bullet. My fav part was when the news lady turned into a wolf on camera...lol

  • lol "Queen Elizabeth is a man!" i heart this movie :D

  • does anyone know where they filmed the slaughtered lamb scenes?

  • The pictures look great.

  • hey dis is a movie ryte? or i mean baced on a movie ryte? i've been looking for the title....bu i cnt find it.... is it just An American Werewolf? or am i just so stupid i cnt seem to understand the title? XD ^.^

  • Hi hun, yes, it IS a movie, and you're not stupid! All of the songs in the film have the word 'moon' in the title, because humans become werewolves when there's a full moon. Suggest you go onto Amazon and search 'DVD's' for "An American Werewolf in London". It was made in 1981. Not sure which part of the world you live in. I'm in England- any problems, get back to me and I'll sort it for you. Just one more thing, Sirius- ask your friend Professor Lupin, he'll tell you more than I can!!

  • XD

thank you so much. I never thought of trying Amazon but i'll try that. i live in the US so yeah. lol. thank you for ur help. :)

  • No problem, good luck. :)

  • I love the scene in the slaughtered lamb..would like to travel to the U.K. someday, are there still pubs like that in the country and how do they react when yanks drop in? Not obnoxious Americans, just regular folk?

  • Hi, yes, we still have pubs like that. In the film, they are referring to the moors down south. I live in the north of England, near the Yorkshire Moors, and the scenery is beautiful. Yes, you'd be welcomed, but the regulars don't talk much. I'm sure you would also like Whitby, which is nearby. It's a sea-side town with amazing views. Legend has it that Count Dracula landed here, and so it has become a gathering place for Goths. :)

  • I've found all the details you want by feeding the complete title into a wikipedia search. Hope it's useful, and if not, e-mail me, regards, peasmouldia. :)

  • @mausermilitia

Yes that looks like a typical Northern pub as they still exist today.

Although you are quite likely to find fruit machines (thats slot machines to you americans) in most of our pubs these days.

  • Yeah, Im looking forward to traveling to the UK..everywhere I've traveled in the U.S. I've found that the best way to get to know the people is to visit the local pubs, restuarants etc.--I imagine we'd all have a good time together drinking some pints..I have to think that regular working class americans are not a whole lot different than our working class brit cousins--down to earth and ready for a good laugh--Ive heard that american beer has found some favor in the UK, is that true?

  • @mausermilitia Only budweiser, My favorite beer is Beck's

  • Just because someone's not from your country certainly doesn't mean they are ignorant.

  • look at 3:14 he fits in the next image

  • "beware of the moon David"

  • you picked the best song for it
