I've got to pick up one of those water meters, Looks handy. The canyon you guys were walking through looks Beautiful. I know some places down here in southern Calfornia to gather some blackberries. My hands are purple after a few minutes of picking.
Just a question one of my survival teachers told me how to find a spring but wasn't really sure how to he said to look for a V and dig near it and then natural spring water would start coming out of the dirt. Any experience with that?
@planb1532190 hmmm..that sounds interesting..and makes sense to me...but I have no experience with it. The natural V...though..is where I'd start digging first....sounds like a combo of using the.. doctrine of signatures and intuition...what FUN!
BIHS54, hello..my friend. Yup..lots of em! haha..but no worries..they are out more at certain times of the year..and certain times of day. For sure..I'll check out the Venus Project..thanks. Happy Hiking..tis the season!!
@BIHS54 Thanks my friend!! This area is INCREDIBLE for hiking...truly gorgeous...time to head back up the canyon and do a Spring video!! Will check out the Venus Project for sure!!!! Cheer to hiking...tis the season!
Thats one of my favorite places to go trail running! Its great to be able to have a cold powerful drink of spring water mid point in a run. such a beautiful place! Thanks rawutah.
Hi tjon90..it's a Hanna PH/TDS/TEMP meter..you can find it on amazon. It runs around 120 or so dollars if I remember correctly. You can also just get a TDS meter for 30 dollars..depends on what you want to read...have fun!!
Heard David Wolfe say once...try hugging your mother, while standing on the mother, in the middle of a cold spring....that it would ground and uplift you!
You are blessed to have a source that close. I called the US Geological Survey office near my home about 2 months back. The hydrologist there was trying to tell me not to drink water from a spring and he said there are none that he knows of around here. I will have to ask around to try and find one, I dont believe there isnt a good one in Virginia. Anyways, thanks for posting another inspiring video!

Sorry about the double comments. Wasn't sure if the first one went through.
I was wondering if you have to worry about rattlesnakes in that area?
