I was allowed in, our whole tour group was. I think everyone responding about it being open to all is correct. The only time the Sultan Hasan or Muhammad Ali mosques are closed to tourists/non-muslims is during worship services (unless I'm mistaken). Pretty sure I'm right. Anyhow, check out the video of my visit there... its found in the one called "Egypt (Churches/Holy Places)".
Another story of police officers' complicity in the abuse of Egyptian Christians. "Egypt: Police collusion suspected in attack on church in Minya," from Compass Direct News, July 17: ISTANBUL, July 17 (Compass Direct News) Villagers in Ezbet Basillious, Minya suspect local police in Egypt of corruption and collusion after two Copts were arrested for an arson attack on their own house church on Saturday (July 11).
With all due respect, that is a completely false statement my brother!!! I am a coptic orthodox Christian!! i am also egyptian.. I know for a fact that muslims do not allow nonmuslims in their mosques unless they convert!!
Umm your telling me? Every friday in my local masjid there is a program for the youth and every friday Christian missionaries and even non-muslim students come and listen. No one says anything, they are even encouraged to come. I don't know about the situation in egypt, but according to Shari'ah (Islamic Law) they are allowed inside.
That depends on what part you live in, some allow everyone but not near the front. I know many people have picnics near the back of the Mosques because in Egypt the Mosques are so big and are the focal points of society.
People are allowed, but at times during prayer it becomes controversial
That gentlemen at the right corner of the video utters the words in a melodic sound, and the domes in the mosque provide resonance and spreads the sound and there is a microphone somewhere( perhaps a mini one attached to his chest) for external speakers.
I would love to go to a mosque..that was beautiful.....

@marcomorkous
On no occasion are non-Muslim people banned from entering a mosques. Every Church, Beit Knesset or Mosque is open for those who behave.

Yes, of course. Of course this assumes that the person coming in isn't walking in with their shoes, or naked, and things of the like.
