  • I have been trying to play along with u but I'm just a beginner. Could u please post a tutorial on how to play this

  • @BMkSkAtEr I'll try to get around to it when I have time. In the mean time though, try looking for some tabs on the song, they should help!

  • This is fantastic! Thanks!

  • DUDE awsome job keep it up!!!

  • THANK YOU. I've spent the last 3 days playing along with you. I can now reproduce every nuance thanks to you! Great lesson. I truly appreciate it.

  • @theaxemansmithe Awesome to hear!

  • Great cover! I love this tune! You did a good job with it!

  • Great job! I like your sound a lot. I have been trying to get the sound of Live Without a Net. Feel free to check out my version and let me know what you think!

  • @tonezone41 I saw it, it sounds great, that OLP sounds like a MM!

  • @s1i2f3 Thank you. I put dimarzio tonezone pickups.

  • Awesome job man!!!

  • @809asphalt Thanks!

  • that was very awesome!

  • @london1817 Thanks!

  • Hey man, great cover! but what tuning is it in?

  • @CutoffBarrow Thanks! I was tuned to E flat (the original song is in standard E)

  • Good cover dude. I remember learning this tune when I was 14 or so. I am 37 now. I had such a love hate relationship with this tune. It took me forever to the get the finger gymnastics smooth in the verse!!

  • @whatcharockin Thanks, I appreciate it. I wasn't born until 3 years after this song came out, goes to show VH rocks across many different age groups!

  • I think it's a great interpretation of the song, also surprised to hear a modeller to sound that good (I'm used to vintage Marshalls and cabs so... I tend to cork sniff ha).

Just one thing: I don't think VH uses the bridge pickup for the riffage.. maybe bridge + center? It sounds more like that to me in the recording. I hear that typical "ting ting".

  • @wkcchampion I believe you are right about that, that song has pretty distinctively "pingy" tone

  • @s1i2f3 Thanks, but that's ok. I wouldn't probably get such a good tone using a POD. 'd rather use my Silver jubilee 2555 or JMP-1 into a '69 basketweave with Pre-Rola Greenbacks. do u use the 5150 model?

  • @wkcchampion Actually no, the 5150 model is a little too metal for this application in my opinion. I'm using the Line 6 Hi Gain amp model for this song (mixed with a bit of a clean channel)

  • @s1i2f3 Well the names are often misleading. For example, the J800 model sounds nothing like my '83 JCM800 2203, for example. You're right... you have to go with what works.

  • @wkcchampion You know there was a long period of time where he only had the rear pickup wired and had a coil tap on it. That will give it the chimey sound too. I currently use an Axe Fx for modeling and it does a great job of reproducing tone like Ed's!

  • you stupid PRICKS he' s NOT playing that he's just playing along unplugged ! ask yourself HOW IS THE DRUM AND BACKING SAME VOLUME ???????????? if recording a vid sound of guitar would

    1.be louder

    2.sound different !

  • @muttsnutts666 Excellent question! I videotape myself playing the guitar part as I am recording along with the track in ProTools. Then, I import the video into iMovie, and replace the sound from the camera with the ProTools recording, hence you hear no guitar strings or random background noise. Glad I could help :)

  • @muttsnutts666 Ya that comment was pretty weak. People post stuff all day long in the same manner as he stated. Soundcard, backing track = video.

    1. Don't Be a Douchebag.

    2. Understand just a pube about audio/video before you start calling people stupid pricks.

  • I love that song. Great job.

  • perfect

  • @s1i2f3 awesome cover what settings are ur amp on?

  • @scrappercol I'm recording direct from my POD X3. I'm blending a clean channel and distortion channel, as the POD allows the user to run two channels at once

  • great song and great cover. good job. im learning it.

  • Very good

  • Thanks for giving a clear demo. Always loved the guitar part but could never see Eddie do it up close. PS. Your guitar has character. Keep playing.

  • Not bad at all !

  • best cover ive seen so far

  • boogers fret ewwwwwwwwwwwww. love the playing though

  • Nice job! Bookmarked! But for God's sake, CLEAN YOUR FRETBOARD! GROSS!

  • @xphyle Sorry, but I happen to love the look of a dirty maple fretboard haha

  • @s1i2f3 yeah!!! and it shows you play that thing!!! great job on the VH tune!!

  • Pretty good!
