hebneh: Oh, fercryin'outloud, stop being such a safety nanny. The big-ass, heavy, thickly-padded cars of the '40's, less traffic, and lower speed limits all mitigated against the carnage you portray. Today's vehicles are over-safe compared to 65 years ago, yet why do traffic deaths keep steady? How do you know what would've happened to ol' Rex, back then or today?
Unfortunately, their Chevrolet wouldn't have gotten them there "safely" if they'd been in an accident. "Yes, you too, Rex" (the dog) would've been thrown forward violently to injury or death with no safety equipment as part of the car's interior. So keep that in mind when you get all dreamy about "the good old days."
I believe Jam Handy, who produced the majority of the Chevrolet "one-reel" promotional films at the time, also created this one. The name of your local Chevrolet dealer was flashed on screen right after this ended....
A time when cars were a lot nicer looking than they are now. Have any of you guys ever seen an ugly-ass piece-of-shit known as a Scion XB, lately? It's shaped like a box, for Christ sakes!
What a flashback! I remember seeing the imprint on my grampa's car's floorboard stating "Body by Fisher," and I asked "I thought this was a Bonneville. Whose Fisher?" Then he punched me...just kidding.
Ah...nostalgia. I like watching stuff like this.

Of course, this all took place before WWII and rationing of gas and such took place.

wow good family manners back then and politefulness as well. Today is just the opposite and rude way.

Yes.. let us remember how black people and Jews were treated in 1940.. Oh those good polite ol'days
snuppy 5 years ago
Well, actually the society was much more polite and that is a separate issue compared to racial equality.

Yeah.. I just wanted to say.. Politeness isn't everything:)
I'd rather be treated unpolitely than being gassed.
