I also loved the part where as the average person, even a Microsoft employee, cares about "negative publicity" and how apparently pirating things makes it so you cant call a hotline or get an update for a product. ie. both the mathchip librarys and direct x are probably expanded. people who make os systems need to realize this hacking proof a system can also mean all inovative programming will amount to is "hello world" modifications.

it also means that microsoft can dictate what they want still on thier computer systems by making the os files undeletable, it means they control the core os of microsofts os's.

Also i believe why consoles like the 360 have more improved graphics is that microsoft is advancing and expanding thier direct x in them, making them bulkier and making programs run more effeciently and smaller.

microsoft has killed the computer industry inadvertently with this by making new windows os essential systems inaccessable to modification by hackers, this means if your interested in advancing computers and not a hacker but someone interested in advancing o's technology you cant make changes to the os, thierfore you cant improve essential systems.

plus what if i want to put some music on my ipod im not allowed to do that ether. but they make all the stuff to do it with like they make cd Burners and then they don't like us making music cd's and the internet there is free software to get free music. so why would you buy it like it could go out and buy a single for five dollars and all i get is 5 virsons of one song that i like. i go out spend 2 dollars on a blank cd and fill it with 200 mp3 songs for only 2 dollars come on man

Piracy by definition is not stealing.

Stealing entails taking something from someone else, in piracy they still retain their copy, you just have your own for no disadvantage to any party. (except of course profit).

So piracy is not the same as, say, stealing a car, like all those ads say, it is the same as taking a picture of a car, and somehow creating your own for free, you dont pay the manufacturer, but no one is losing theirs either.

HMMM!!! Did you check out the co-relation between the increase in Piracy and anti piracy ads. like this one. I did!!! They are growing in synchronicity. It might have something to do with people not liking to be told wrong and right. Also all AP ads seem to ignore the question of simple economics ie. it is cheaper to buy bootlegs than the real thing! Appealing to people's sense of right and wrong and threatening them only makes piracy more attractive. it's like screwing the system. IMAO.

Lets be Privateers. A new definition and meaning to this word: we essentially lost a lot of trust and respect for the media/entertainment industries. And will not do a lot of business with them anymore. It will be adversial a lot of times. we are also more consumer conscious and will venture forth on all legal and lawful opportunities and options available to us. For one thing and example, we will check out DVDs, nusic cds, audio books and even books from the library. ;)

It's got a whole library of music like this + old films etc, free to use (Not all though, check the legal stuff). You can even get old TV shows and movies :P
