You can wrist flick this knife open w/o the stud or the lock mech. It’s much faster than an auto-knife. Take’s a little practice. Just hold it and flick.

Very simple but highly effective mods,good stuff as always Duane,i got the Benchmade 550HG plain edge,satin finish but with opening hole instead of thumbstud so i may do the "Poor Mans Wave Mod"with 2 nylon cable ties in the hole around top side of blade to simulate Emerson wave feature.Ive also been thinkin about replacing the chunky grips with some much thinner G-10 handle slabs of my own design cause then it'd be perfect for my liking.Keep up the wicked vids and take care my friend...Richard

Thanks for your comments. Mine doesn't have any blade rattle in the open or closed position. I also started with the Mini-Griptilian but I wanted something bigger. This is one of my 3 fav EDC knives. The other 2 are Spyderco Tenacious and SOG Aegis.

That is one of the things that I like about my Kershaw Scalion which I was not sure about at first: The steel color pocket clip. Now I likes it fer sure.

Yep, I agree. Steel color is best unless somebody could make a black or dark blue that doesn't come off.
