  • Love it!!!

  • Brilliant video.I met Flick Colby a few times back in 1976 & saw her work out dance routines for Ruby Flipper. An amazing lady.Made a great impression on me;an 11 year old.So sad she's left us now.Great to see her here with P-P in 1968.

  • Flick was so cool....trust the BBC to wipe all the Top of the pops in 68-69

  • Andi Rutherford had really slimmed down by the time the girls were performing on Top Of The Pops. Also sad to see Flick pass away at such an early age last week. Only for her, Pan's People or any of the subsequent dance troupes on the show (Legs & Co, Ruby Flipper, or Zoo would never have existed) RIP Flick....

  • Flick was so very beautiful....such a tragic waste that she should go so young (65).I grew up with Pans people. My favourite was Louise, but without Flick they wouldn't have existed at all...Rip Hon !

  • Babs nowadyas does keep fit and aerobic-type classes around the West Wilshire area.

  • Strange she should die at such an early age (65) from pneumonia. But she had been battling breast cancer for many, many years (10-15 at least) and I guess some anti-cancer drugs had lowered her immunity or something.

  • RiP Flick, the creative figure behind Pan's People. I was too young to take an avid interest when she was still dancing with PP, but looking at the vids here on YT, she does seem to have 'it' - and noticeably more than the other girls, who were by no means without talent.

  • @jnmklo9- indeed. RIP Flick, who's death was announced today. @MrJimmyboy1972- done better by The Who, of course.

  • Flick is so gorgeous

  • TAKE ALSO A LOOK AT the second video from the SAME beatclub show: "Pans People dancing to Yardbirds Over Under Sideways Down 1968" - omg, what kind of girls! where are such girls today? wished I lived in the late sixties.

  • this is sooo Austin Powers. Thank you for posting.

  • @msedgarkelly No, it's not. LOL

  • Flick Colby wow .. Body yeah .... Beautiful face yeah

  • I would be happy to pay 10 Cents ( Euro or Amero ) to watch that whole show. Why can't I find it on Eye Thuns ?

  • To correct this was from October 1968's Beat-Club episode. This was when Mood Mosaic's theme was used.

  • 3 hot babes!!!!!!!!!

  • Flick Colby!

  • I like the fat one.

  • Flick is a gorgeous girl lady and woman hmmmm give me goosebumps

  • Jacques Dutronc - le plus difficile

  • are they still around today?

  • Yes, they are all still alive, I think. They no longer perform as a troupe, though.

  • @sambda Not surprising. They must all be in their 60's or 70's by now, surely?

  • Pan's People were a 6 girl group when they started out in 1968. Flick, Dee Dee, Babs, Ruth, Louise and Andrea, In the early days TV Shows did not hire all six together as there was usually only room for three.

  • I have found an early video of three of Pan's People, Ruth, Babs and Louise dancing to Jacques Dutronc singing "Le plus difficile" on German TV around 1968. I found it on Zarambia youtube site. Ruth nearly falls off stage at the end after slipping.

  • Can we have a link... I can't find it

  • Yes Louise was always my fvourite

  • This is ace!! Flick is absolutely beautiful. They started on TOTP in April 1968 with all 6 of them but were only used about once a month for a year or so. This is Oct '68 and the earliest surviving footage of them so far - i hope more BeatClub footage turns up with the other 3 or all 6. Mmmm!!!

  • Are you sure they were 6 strong when they started on TOTP? Only on another "Beatclub" clip and also some "Beat Beat Beat" stuff from around the same time, there are the same 3 of them.

They dance again later in the same ed of "Beatclub" to, I think, some Eric Clapton number, but it isn't a good routine like this. I'll put it up if there is enough interest though.

  • Count me in for the interest i'd love to see it! Their first TOTP routine was just Dee Dee & Ruth to 'Simon Says', then with Flick to the Box Tops 'Cry Like A Baby', then then all 6 to Elvis Presley 'US Male' in April 68. When this was shot the 'Good, Bad & the Ugly' Theme was No.1 where they were all painted gold.

Not sure why just 3 of them on this though, there is a clip of them dancing to a Jacques Dutronc song in '67 on YT somewhere! Poss Beatclub? Will have to find it again

  • I notice Uschi (in the clip) says the PP are appearing on TV in Holland and France, so the latter is presumably where that Dutronc clip you mention comes from?

I have all the Beatclubs and the two performances I mention (both on the same show) are all the PP there is on BC.

  • Yeah great stuff, do you know if a clip exists from Top Of The Pops with Flick on dancing to Marvin Gaye`s I Heard It Through The Grapevine i would love to see it again. have you seen the clip of the GoGos from Christmas 1967 dancing to Reflections by the Supremes well worth a look.

  • Brilliant Video, quality is excellent Thanks for the post

    Wayne ☻

  • i have given it 5 , great fun

  • Where the heck you get this from!!!??-Brilliant upload of early Pans (even if the drop dead dark and gorgeous Ruth and also Babs are missing). Lineup here is Andrea (Blonde) Flick (as you say) then Dee Dee.

I hit the wrong button and I should ahve given 5* by the way. A piece of history here- with a young looking DLTravis anall. Thanks for this.

  • Also Louise is missing - my favourite!
