You were in a gale. For the storm to be a hurricane, the winds must me 74 mph or more. And as gales go, this one didn't look all that bad. I was also in a number of hurricanes while serving on Destroyers.

Also, no high-end cruise line, like Carnival would have let you outside during a hurricane.

Nice vid! Just to correct you it must have been the Victory or the Triumph. The Paradise does not leave from NYC. The only time it did was when it came out back in 1998. The Victory and Triumph are pretty big ships over 100,000 tons!
