  • Hi hi! Have you ever tried intellectus 424 diet (google it)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cooworker lost lots of weight with it.

  • Very good vid. I'm on low carb diet, but reset leptin levels once a week with a cheat meal. Works a treat. High protein, moderate fats and low carbs is best

  • Barry Sears: Fat

    Sally Fallon: Fat

Dr Atkins: Fat and died from fatal concussion induced by a heart attack.

Mark Sisson: Elite athlete turned into show pony that cant even run a 5km fast anymore.

  • Check out my latest vid Matt. Look how lean and fit I am from eating a diet of over 85% of my calories coming from simple sugars each day for years..

  • As a figure of the thinner build with low carbohydrate and high protein intake, I have to admit that it does makes sense for my metabolism to increase in carbohydrates. I feel better hydrated. While growing up I never took a liking to soda. In my older age I notice that my body craves something in that soda. Now I know it's the carbohydrates. Thank goodness I don't need to resort to the soda, though it was a tell tale sign for me that I need to include more carbohydrates.

  • with all this findings, what is a girl going to do lose weight!!!,email me pls

  • You're right about a lot of things but the proper dichotomy is fats vs carbs. A low carb diet should ideally be mostly fat with less protein for the reasons you mentioned. A very valid point is that a lot of the time a very high fat diet (like 70% total calories) is also a high PUFA diet which is also stupid. beef, beef tallow, coconut, butter, low PUFA nuts etc are best

Either way the low carb "carbs are the devil and all that matters is cutting carbs" reductionists are silly fools.

  • @StabbyRaccoon I have done a 70-80% low-carb diet before. It was not pretty long-term. Extremely low-nutrient, high omega 6 even with primarily saturated fat sources, etc. No matter how you cut it, a very low-carb diet is usually a strain on the metabolism and raises cortisol. Short-term results appear great, but that's about it in most cases.

Actually I agree with this now. I was doing something like 70% fat, 25 protein and 5% carbs for a while and I noticed I was a lot more stressed and my workouts were suffering so yesterday I put it to the test and added a cup of yams, an apple and some more vegetables and today my fasted workout was better than it has been in a long time and my stress is down. Good tips!

I think that very low carb looks appealing because people with insulin resistance lose weight on it.
