i think the appearance of the googlephone is just a bit clumsy. It's design doesn't look like it will last. And the movable parts may easily break. In terms of functions, pretty cool.
But the appearance just looks too "safe" or old in my opinion. The layout of things look like a windows vista, but weirder.
well seeing that 8GB sd cards cost only 15$, and will only go down, does not seam like much of a bad thing, seeing that the phone and service are much cheaper that the iphone, also with the iphone your stuck with 16 or 8GBof memory. SD cards are only getting bigger and more affordable, so I can upgrade my G1 memory to 32GB right now, instead of having to buy a new phone...

true but compared with all the other features, i dont miss the picture messaging AT ALL. and there are alot of good apps, many of which the g1 cant even use because of its inferior touch screen(ie, dance revolution which requires using multple fingers on the touch screen where as the g1 can only support one finger and is more choppy)
The only reason that the g1 doesn't have a multi-touch screen is because Apple Insinuated a lawsuit against HTC when they were discussing that. same with the 3.5mm Jack.

yea you can easily replace the battery but its still not as great as the battery life on the iphone...also yes you can upgrade memory but by the time you spent the money replacing the battery and upgrading memory you have spent much more than the iphone AND you are still left with an inferior phone.

They forgot to mention the compass which is very cool.

THIS PHONE HAS AN ACCELEROMETER!!! It is capable or turning the screen when you turn the phone. It is just not programmed to do that.
Second of all, it takes MicroSD cards NOT miniSD. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! And the iPhone is a rare case where the memory is given with the phone. He talks like that is the standard.. This is even removable, swappable.

Both the iphone and g1 are good phones. i have an unlocked iphone for t-mobile and gave it to my dad to replace his wing because the wing sucks. the typing on the g1 is better then the iphone and u have to pay for every app. i had the iphone 3g and thats what i gave to my dad and now i have the g1 and i like it much better.
