  • great single, thanks for that. Found out that my father has the single too, a piece of history.

  • does anyone think that the characters from this show are pretty similar to those in callan which came a few years later? i remember weavers green too !

  • *****.

  • The Rat Catchers was on ITV while Auntie Beeb aired an extremely lame dick show called Softly Softly. TRC was closer to Len Deighton's books about the dirty end of the spy game. Most of the tapes were destroyed in a bonfire along with the plans for the TSR2 fighter jet. A sad loss. Thanks for playing the 45.

  • I adored 'The Rat Catchers' & recall being glued to it every week- along with my Mum.We loved Glyn Owen best, as we remembered him as nice 'Paddy' from Emergency Ward 10-always seemed decent/dependable-the kind of bloke you'd want on yr side in a fight too! Spy series were very popular & this was a bit like The Avengers, & later The Sandbaggers,Callan & Spooks.Johnny Pearson's theme was one I've NEVER forgotten. Thanks for posting, it brought back gr8 memories

  • Still have this on vinyl 7 inch. The `B` side is music from another TV series of the time entitled ` Weaver`s Green`, which starred Megs Jenkins, I seem to recall. Enjoy!

  • great series from the 60's, i think the characters in the show were very similar to the later series "callan"

  • One of the few British spy shows from the 60's I haven't seen--this one was probably syndicated. At any rate, great theme music. Johnny Pearson seems to have written a lot of it over the years.
