Okay, physics 101. First of all, chevelles are not light cars. It would take monster amounts of torque to lift the front wheels off the ground at all, let alone 3 or 4 feet like the preview shows. Look up some videos of a real drag car (not a shiny bling-bling street car with 17" wheels and a giant stereo) launching without wheelie bars and pay attention to how the nose lifts. It's not all nice and slow like riding a wheelie on a sportbike, it's violent uncontrollable until the front tires hit.

THe phrase "big block chevy with all the ad ons" doesn't mean a damn thing. That could refer to anything from a stock bore 396 with a cam and headers (approx. 300 hp/400 lb-ft) to a blown, alchohol injected 600 cubic inch pro-stock motor with well over 1000 hp and torque. The latter would certainly propel a 3600 lb chevelle off the line with the nose in the air, but it would never be driveable in a street car. Engines like that require prep time before each quarter mile race, and cool-down time.

I'm not denying that a chevelle could do a wheelie, I have seen chevelles do wheelies in person at the track. what I am saying is that the particular chevelle that Vin Diesel is shown driving in this trailer is not capable of doing a wheelie the way it is shown in the film. And if that particular Chevelle could in fact do a wheelie, it would be totally unsuitable for use in any other form of racing than straight line drag racing over a short distance.
