Cultural differences aside, some of that stuff is nasty but I get the idea of ofering some degree of variety to a 10-man unit and it a generous amount of food for one day.
@HawkeyeDrifter - I would have thought that was the case - but if you take some of the rice and add milk and cook you can make rice pudding - that is very nice with jam mixed in -
@101reviews Well if you can find them - I have seen them go on a popular bid site between 70 - 100 British Pounds - inIncluding shipping within the UK.(not cheap)
@RockingMadDog good point - The new ration packs (experimental) have done away with them - but I do have an older type 24 hour ration pack that has the two Yorkie bars in it - I will review both theOLDer and NEWer British 24 Hour ration packs soon..
@kungfusnwbrdr - agree - I also have a box of the same size that has 10 x 1 man - 24 hour packs - these are close to the MRE type of meal - with little to no preperation apart from heating - this 10 man ration box - relies on someone having basic cooking skills - to make the bread and use the contents to make meals...I will do a video of the 24 hour ration pack soon...
@gunfuego - back in the day - when I was at school 1960's - they tought "domestic science" - Cooking........both boys and girls took the lessons...no choice.....
@FlankerTanker wish they still did, It seems like not one of my friends, their girlfriends, or their families know how to use a stove or oven let alone cook. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just tired of ignorance and some time willful ignorance towards basic life skills.... and on that note, HOLY CRAP! that's a ton of food, I might just get five in case of emergency.
@kungfusnwbrdr Actually this looks like a good start to make your own 10 people one day or one person 10 day off the shelf emergency "care" box for hurricanes etc...just add a propane tank w/ 2 burner grill, and drip water purifier. but you would need to add a book on how to use the stuff.
@TimmehxD - I will be doing some more Airsoft - and also Co2 Pistols - a little to much power for Airsoft here in the UK.. so I have a shotgun or two lined up and a few CO2 pistols - I hope that will be more of what you would like to see.
@BHDmalarkey HIKE !!! - this weighs a TON.......... give me and MRE any day if I have to carry it about - these things are dropped off bylorry, Landrover or C130's ;-)
@geunsjl Yes we don and NO we don't ......... People of my age are OLD school so we stick to Lbs, Pints, feet and inches - but the new generation are Kilos, litres, Meters and Centemeters...much of the UK Military kit and indeed some of the civilian stuff have both

how long does this food keep for
judopathoftruth 2 months ago
@judopathoftruth rations are meant to be kept for years in most cases.
I've heard that some can last 10-30 years in case of national war or isolation.
most rations seem to be good for on average about 15 years.
I'm gonna stock up on them in case the shite hits the fan and stores run dry.

This looks rather complicated compared the the U.S. MRE unit group rations...still good for your WTSHTF kit, though!
