I'd like to think that this is a fresh new start for the series, sort of a do-over. Because in my opinion, the series sort of crashes and burns with too many new concepts made for a specific audience, and not the one that is most important.
The cell-shading turned me off at first but now it's kinda hard to imagine this game without it. Looking good, lets just hope it's not only a looker.

You obviously have no comprehension of the term "Reboot Continuity". This is the third or fourth so continuity in the PoP series. They changed this game the same way SoT was changed from the PoP continuity before it. Don't complain just because it's not identical to Sands of Time, because Sands of Time was nothing like the PoP series before it.
yes but when u make sequals you expect the game to be similar but improved this looks like a nearly new game,why not keep the old good parts and just add new better ones!

That's because the ISN'T a sequel at all. This is an entirely new continuity to the Prince of Persia franchise, with a new universe, new characters, new plot, etc. And as far as I' concerned, the bandanna just helps finish his desert bandit look all the better. The Sands of Time trilogy (which, fanboys can't understand, is OVER) was also an entirely different continuity from the PoP games before it. Prince of Persia isn't the only franchise that does these kinds of things.
perhaps it was about time with things getting repetative, but the only thing that looks better is that the girl doesnt get in your way and shes useful (rather like a magical hammer in fights)instead of requiring help (and graphics of course) they could of done more, also will the story line be much different anyway? i bet its got a very similar theme.
What little plot has bee nreveaed already catches more mythical aspects of Persian lore. They admitted themselves to wanting a more fantasy-based Prince of Persia to capture that essence. As far as I care, more than enough looks changed to justify it as a new entry into the series, everything staple element the past games is there gameplay wise, and if you're gonna complain about the graphics, then your disrespect is misplaced.
I agree also, I never played the origional prince series, but i loved the SOT. that series is over tho, and from what ive seen of this new one from the more fantastical aproach, the ilustrative art design, the one on one battles and the return of the trademark acrobatics, it looks like the best yet!

Certainly. I think they said, somewhat in the way Crackdown was a few steps above simple cel-shaded engines, this engine is also several steps above what we saw in Crackdown, with far more polygons. I guess they said it was meant to give the player an almost story-book feel to the game as well as make the game stand out from others on the market right now. Personally, I think it looks way better in motion than I first thought it would when I saw screen shots.

The PoP series never fails to suck. In fact, every game is pretty much made of win, its about the only game series that is perfect.
Also, I like the new idea of jumping. Hopefully, they'll update the combat too.
