This is my first time ever watching The Shag. In fact, I just found out bout 15 minutes ago what "Beach Music" is after all these years. Ugghh. Disappointing. You know there's a song playing in the background, right? Maybe dance to that. If this had hit ANY of the music in the song, it might have been the coolest thing ever. Instead it was just a progression of pre-rehearsed footwork, with hardly any lead/follow. If this is a great example of Shag, then Shag needs some musicality. Maybe that's the westie in me talking. I'm gonna go back to watching Michael and Brennar and feel better about this dance.

I have lived in South Carolina all of my life. I have seen it done in Charleston, Columbia, Myrtle Beach and little towns in between, but nothing can come close to this. Sam and Sara have achieved PERFECTION!!! I have yet to see anyone able to Shag with such grace or precision in my life. I found this video about 3 hours ago and I know I have watched it 20 times!!! My instructor asked why I was laughing and I said that you didn't even need the guy out there. She could have danced with a lamppost!
