Nice! I have to do the same thing on my 2002 CVPI. How long did it take you to do it? I may even have the valves redone while I am at it even though it only has 116k miles on it.
@ysgeye1 Since I was working 50 hr/wk, it took me a month. As far as actual working time, less the wait for the heads to be cleaned up and waiting for parts to be ordered in, I would say about a week solid. Since my head gasket didn't "blow" but was seeping and I got to it early, the heads and valves were in very good condition and I couldn't afford the extra $400 for the valve job. If you get the heads before they warp, you can get away with a light milling.
@technocat it may of been a WSP vehicle but being a 98, it did not come with PI heads. Sure it may of had a good set to begin with but they were/are not PI heads.
@fordwindsor351 I thought he was calling them police interceptor heads. I know they didn't come with the racing PI heads. If only I had the funds for them...
I did both sides. It wasn't too difficult in comparison to what some vehicles can be like. The modular style engine makes it manageable. There were a couple small tweaks that were involved, such as having to punch a small hole in the evaporator housing in order to get the passenger side valve cover off (that or remove the entire wheel-well and blower box). I did motor mounts and timing set and basically everything I didn't want to go out 100 miles after everything was done.

Nice work man. I would have used this opportunity to install some PI heads. Would have really woke this car right up.
