i looked into renting a plasma cutter then i found one real cheap and it turned out it would  have cost 300 to fix !!!

Renting is a good idea if you want to try out a particular welder before buying. If you're serious the LWS might just let you use one for a weekend for free if they think they got a good shot at a sale. I might just do that with a spool gun set up as all my aluminum has been done with tig and maybe could increase production with a decent mig/spoolgun set up.

Could you give some of the prices ? I live in the catskills  and have no place to rent

a good welder but if you give the prices maybe I could talk the welding shop close to me to rent me a 220 for a day or 2
