If you read these verses again you can find out that there is no contradiction between them. In 11:43 says one of Nuh's son was of the drowned but Nuh's family including his wife and his daughters and the rest of his sons were saved. If one member of his family or offspring was drowned that doesn't mean the whole family had the same end.
